I think Brazil will do a good job and the stadia definitely need modernising and I'd love to go there.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

What a terrible decision, being good at football doesn't mean you are capable of holding such a huge tournament. This is a terrible mistake. It's a shame that England will never get it, because of that bias old prick Blatter who doesn't like England at all, and punishes any team/player from here 10 times harder than any other country.

I'm happy, Brasil is the symbol country of football, it will be a great world cup I'm sure.

England alongside Australia are the strongest candidates for 2018.

The fact that Brasil is not a first world country does not mean they cannot organize a great world cup. I'm prety happy with the decision. I can't wait for another Maracanazo !!!!!

Nalbandian - JMDP - Djokovic - Nadal - Mathieu - Verdasco - Coria - Tipsarevic - Nieminen - Calleri

Re: Brazil is officially named host of the 2014 World Cup

Congratulations Brazil!

Its about time the cup is being held back in South America. The last time was in 1978 for Pete's sake. Besides Argentina, I cannot think of a better place than to host it than Brazil. After all, it will be all that much sweeter for me and my countrymen when Argentina hoists the cup in the land of our traditional football rivals.

Im thinking the additional pressure of winning the cup as the host will crack the Brazilian team just as it did to France in the Rugby World Cup. Thats my hope at least!!!

Im definitely going to be there.

Terrible decision???? Europe has hosted the cup FOUR times since the last South America-hosted world cup in 1978: Spain 1982, Italy 1990, France 1998, and Germany 2006, when the cup before 1978 was regularly hosted in Latin America.

Europe just happens to have too much power and say as to where the Cup should be hosted and its no surprise European sites generally win out.

The truth is this whole "huge-tournament-capacity" argument is nothing but European snobbery and an excuse to keep the cup in Europe and benefit the home teams there.

Brazil is the 6th largest economy in the world and is certainly capable of hosting the cup.
