Re: Boxing thread

Marquez knocks out Pacquiao in the 5th. Literally -- Pacquiao was unconscious for like a minute. He leaned in to throw a punch just as Marquez was loading up and sending a big right, so it doubled up the force of it. From one angle it really looked like he ran into his fist.

Marquez knocked Pac down in the 3rd, Pac knocked him down (sort of, more of a stumble) in the fourth. Exciting fight, too bad it didn't go on a bit longer.

Re: Boxing thread

A thrilling fight with a spectacular conclusion.

I'm very happy that Márquez KOed the Pacman. I personally think that he was robbed by the judges in 2 out of their 3 previous fights, so he was finally able to get his vindication, and in style too. He has worked hard for this and deserves it.

Many big fights are tight and cagey, but after a slow start this was a full-blooded, action packed affair. That knock out blow by Márquez was brutal. Pacquiao was down for about 2 minutes afterwards.

Re: Boxing thread

Braindamage right there.

I saw UFC on Fox5 (go GustafssoN!) right before and thinner gloves is the way to go. Boxers getting sloppy these days. Those thick gloves give a false sense of security. Even experienced fighter like Pac was swinging wildly. Deserved to be KOed for that guard. Went in with a jab and had no guard at all. Hands up little man!

Re: Boxing thread

pac/roach thought they could walk down a heavily juiced-up marquez and knock him out . a strategic blunder of the highest order.

Anyone watch the Ricky Burns fight? he got battered by Raymundo Beltran in Glasgow and it finished a draw. LoL.

Boxing is a complete joke.

I was thinking about going, but too late now really.

Hopefully Groves can see away the most arrogant man in boxing. Froch is an absolute embarrassment of a human being.

Re: Boxing thread

What is it with British boxers always playing the Heel role?
