Two guys trying to cause brain damage to their opponent is not a sport.

That's the opposite of my predictions. Only one I got wrong was Couture. He was handed a gift decision, though.

Re: Boxing thread

I watched HBO's 24/7 before the match and I was kinda displeased with Pacman. Cotto was far more presevering.

So watching the match, I was like, trembling maybe Manny will not win this... Well, this is how I feel for his past matches ever since De La Hoya.

I am impressed with both players. Race just sentences me to liking Pacquiao more.

About Vera though... he didn't come strong, he should've gave it his all. The validity of the judges' decision could never be complained at.

Lyota up next for Randy...

Re: Boxing thread

Cotto started out pretty well, using his jab. But as soon as Manny sunk his teeth into the match, it was over. Manny needs to really go against someone who will REALLY challenge him. If not PBF, definitely Sugar Shane. Manny was too fast and explosive for Cotto.

Re: Boxing thread

but compared to the last two with hatton and de la hoya... this one was more interesting... at least in the beginning.

paying for pay per view this time was worth it...

unlike the hatton fight

Re: Boxing thread

And too cunning as well. He was wary of the Cotto left jab from a distance so what he did was lure the Puerto Rican to move in with power shots w/c he deflected with superior hand/foot speed and punches coming from all angles. A big risk but it worked.

Everyone's now clamoring for a showdown w/ Diva Floydie who wants a 65% share of the ppv revenue.

Exactly right, and as soon as Cotto went away from the jab, there was going to only be one winner. As soon as Cotto started winding up on his punches, Manny had already landed flush shots of his own. Manny can throw punches at such angles that no-one can see them, and he is so pinpoint and quick with his punches and how he gets in position to throw them, he can seem like he is not doing much, and them BANG. But it was definitely a fun and interesting fight for the fans, more exciting than most other fights I have seen recently.

I really want to see Floyd fight Mosley first, and then fight Manny. Floyd needs to fight someone who will truly give him a match, and one where he isn't so clearly overmatching his opponent.
