Womens football should be banned. Just brings disgrace to a great sport.

I didn't follow the competition at all because I don't care about football in general, but it is great to see they get quite a lot of recognition for their achievements in Germany. "Deutschland ist Weltmeister!" really is all over the German news websites today.
Well done, Mädels!

On the other hand, in women's football the players are at least not overweight like 80% of the female tennis players, so it's not easy to decide which one is the bigger joke.

Congrats! Marta

Although I'dprefer if they played on smaller fields with smaller goals - it just looks like a slow version of the men's game and all high shots go in, it looks ridiculous.

I don't like hypocrites, but even worse are the ones who think it's OK to be an asshole as long as you are not hypocritical.

Re: Germany wins FIFA Women's World Cup 2007, 2-0 over Brazil

Very good, these teams were just the best! Really exciting match! Very good that the World Cup got quite a lot of attention, much more than four years ago.

For fairness reasons, it has to be said that Brazil would have deserved to score the first goal. But the German defence didn't break down and they are tactically one of most disciplined teams anyway which helped to withstand the Brazilian magic. And after all, they scored the two goals.

Really amazing achievement to defend the title and doing this with a clean sheet throughout the whole tournament. It just wasn't meant to be otherwise (saving the penalty, and the luck needed with shots on the posts going out).

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Women footballers are better athletes than WTA for sure. Cut them some slack because their football hasn't been given time develop like the Man's game. FIFA had banned women football until 70's and some countries like Brazil still don't have a national league for the women. Within another 20 years, their football quality will be better. Congrats to the German's defense and tactical football.

Re: Germany wins FIFA Women's World Cup 2007, 2-0 over Brazil

Brazil seemed destined to win the title this year as they were playing the best scoocer and did score enough goals throughout the tournament which was their problem in the last couple of years, converting their chances, but like Neely said, german girls are as disciplined as you can be and ice cold in scoring their goals, they dont need too many oppurtunities

great tournament and achievement, it was highly entertaining
