Recommendation for my Eurotrip

I would like to know about cheap places to stay in Paris (specially Youth Hostels) and wich is the most "medieval" place/city/town in Luxembourg/North Westfalen to visit?

Re: Recommendation for my Eurotrip

my favorite travel site is www.tripadvisor.com you can go to forums for each city and ask questions and read lots of GREAT stuff - especially for a place like Paris, I am sure there is tons of stuff about hostels on there. also http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm is really helpful for more general questions (like your one about the most medieval place)

have fun, I leave for europe next week for 6 weeks and i can't wait

Could be the city of Aachen in Germany, the grave of Carlo Magno is there.

Aachen fue la capital del Imperio Carolingio, asi que si quieres algo medieval te lo recomiendo, y ademas por favor...

You have to see al least once "The Kölner Dom" in english, The Cathedral of Cologne, really great stuff to watch.

In the Quartier Latin, I know http://www.youngandhappy.fr/, rue Mouffetard.

OMG, forget it, I checked just out of curiosity the link Deb gave and Y&H is having *horrible* comments there, "the worst place I have ever stayed in in my life", "worst hostel ever", "disgusting" ...
I found it OK, but maybe it has changed.
Do NOT go there, lol.

The Quartier latin is so gorgeous. It's full of restaurants, cafès, shops and it's easy to get from the airport because you just have to take the tube. Also, Le marais is really beautiful to stay.

well, atm that's the best hostel I found from those I can pay. I'm looking something friendly and social, were I can get in and out any time (24hs open), and this "Young and Happy" seems quite good. Also the location is excellent.

I'm sure that most people that their comments are "disgusting, the worst, etc" never been to a Hostel or never enjoyed that way of life

One of the main thing to keep in mind is that public transports are great so it's not that big a deal if you're not right in the middle of Paris and it might be a lot cheaper.

This is true, for me a lot of the time I just want somewhere to put my head down that doesn't have bed bugs or other stuff like that.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Are you sure? Well of course it's an investment but it can be very useful and not that expansive if you use it a lot.

Like you can buy a "carte orange" for one month at about 15 euros, usable in both the métro (and the the RER) and the buses in Paris and the close suburbs.

Or there is a transport pass specially designed for tourists usable during 1 to 5 days etc... in all means of transport except the taxis i think so the métro, the RER (regional train), the buses (night and day) and the boats etc... Lots of tourists use that.

Have you checked this website? http://www.ratp.com/

Good luck with your preparation of your trip!

Re: Recommendation for my Eurotrip

thanks. I'll be there only 3 days.

For Argentineans, 1€ is a lot of money, so I need to save as much as possible.

Considering that here, a subway ticket costs 0,7$ (0,16€) :S

Re: Recommendation for my Eurotrip

Definitely, I would take tripadvisor reviews of hostels with a grain of salt. It depends on what you are looking for. When I did all my research on that site for my hotels (hostels out of the question for me), I found myself laughing at some of the reviews where people would say "there was a stain on the chair, this place was AWFUL!!!!" I think there are sites out there that are just for hostels which might have better reviews and information for and from people who normally stay at hostels.

Here, try this http://www.hostelz.com/hostels/Franc...e-France/Paris

but the Tripadvisor city forums for things like cheap restaurants, fun things to do, etc., are priceless and amazing. i have learned about so many things to do on my trip there that I never would've found out about otherwise. So definitely go to the forums and there is lots of stuff there that will help save you money
