How Much Should I Sell My Racquet For?

Let's just say that I have a potential buyer... I don't, yet, but I will soon enough

I have a Volkl racquet that I received in 2001. It's never been removed from the packaging. Tags, case, plastic cover on the handle... it's all still there. When I was given the racquet it was worth about $200, but I recieved it in 2001 so it would be worth less on the market these days.

The key is that it's also been signed by Boris Becker and John McEnroe. I won it for participating in some contest blah (and just generally being awesome).

I'm not going to sell it for peanuts. I'd rather just keep it if that is the case. But, I'm planning on moving soon so I'm trying to liquidate as many of my assets as possible. So if I can sell it, all the better.

Thoughts?

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

Re: How Much Should I Sell My Racquet For?

I'm not putting it on ebay unless I get an idea of what I should ask for it. I'm fully aware that I can set a reserve on ebay and go from there. I've also recently checked ebay to see what comparable items are going for... I didn't really find what I was looking for. I actually meant to put that in the first post to save myself the "ebay" responses. I'm sure that was well meaning, though, so thank you.

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

If you were going to put it on ebay, don't put a reserve on it, it puts people off. Just get a friend to win the bid if it isn't going for enough.

No idea how much you should ask for, you'll need to ask an expert

I found James Blake Autograph Tennis Ball With Photo Shadowbox - 399
and Andre Agassi Pete Sampras Tennis Signed Autograph GAI - 259

I think if you can prove the signature is real you can charge more too.

TennisLessons.com - The place to go to find a pro, free Tennis Lessons Classifieds in your local area.

MathLessons.com - When the numbers don't add up

Re: How Much Should I Sell My Racquet For?

Becker and McEnroe auto shirts and tennis balls are going from $4.99 to about $50, since both are on there, take the avg. of that, 27x2(two of them)= 54+100(for the racquet)= $154.

Re: How Much Should I Sell My Racquet For?

Ideally I won't have to sell it. But if I don't sell something, I can't come up with the money to secure a passport for another three weeks. Which means another month before I can be taken seriously for overseas job applications. And if I don't get out of this town soon, my head will pop.

I'm willing to give a hometown discount to anybody here that wants it

Seriously, I will probably put it on ebay once i can secure proof of signature and blah, which I more or less have, somewhere.

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.
