Re: Sunday OOP + scores

Gone with the wind to the final, 26.2.2005.
Ivan will play in the final for the third week in a row! After Marseilles and Rotterdam he managed to win semifinal match in Dubai. He beat Spaniard Tommy Robredo 6:4 6:3 and improved this years record to 20-5 with perfect 5-0 against Spaniards.

- Before, I'd be thinking "wow, I'm in the final". Now I don't have any special thoughts. OK, it's another final. My coach Patti said it best: "Now you have new level, new class".

What's changed so dramatically from the last year? What's the secret for reaching four finals in six matches, three of which in a row. On two continents and two different type of courts. It turns out that semifinal in Milan is "bad" record, along with second round of Australian Open.

- It's simple. Now, I can win in every match. I could've won matches last, even the year before last. The difference is that now, I'm winning. I'm ready, both psychically and physically and that's it.

Lisnard, Verdasco, Henman, Robredo. Good line of players.

I'm playing match at the time. In this case, every opponent was different. First was dangerous because of court change, left-handed Verdasco doesn't suit me at all. But I managed to escape with win. Against Henman, match was being interrupted all the time, and now it was windy. Every match was a story of its own and that's a nice feeling. I won against different types of players. I played great against Robredo. I even didn't have to hit the ball hard, he missed quite a lot of balls out. I slowed down too much in the middle of both sets so he took over the initiative. Still, I'm experienced enough so it didn't last long.

Federer could be Ivan's opponent for the third time this season. In Doha, Swiss won easily, in Rotterdam Ivan was 4:2 up in the third set tie break. But Federer will first have to win against Agassi. Both of them had to play two matches because of yesterday's rain. Ivan's advantage?

- They didn't have to work hard. If they played three sets, and then had a good fight among themselves, then maybe. I just don't thing they'll have any problems tomorrow.

Final will be played at 6 p.m. CET. Ivan might be on HTV again. Maybe in intro to Davis Cup against Agassi?

I doubt it. But times have arrived when one would like to play against Agassi. He's playing well, but doesn't go after every ball. But once he enters the court and starts dictating the game, he's still dangerous.

New final won't mean too much in a quest for Top 10.

- I have to win something big.

For start it might be Dubai. Title in Lyon has been lonely for too long
