Blaze is just trying to be smug It's been a while since Rafa has reached the finals of a tournament.

I think for the most part, a lot of us, overhere, still kept up with IW because we enjoy tennis and have other favorites. I really wish Gasquet had been in the top half and Berdych came to IW better prepared. I would have loved to see those two youngsters do well at IW.

This tournament is shit without Fed but I still kept up with IW.

What tennis fan would devoid themselves of tennis especially a master series. I certainly have other faves after Fed but besides Roddick, they all crashed out early.

Murray is growing on me.

The deeper the tournaments goes, the more I miss Roger I wish for a Roger-Nadal final so that Roger could have another chance to put Nadal into place esp after today's kill of Roddick DAMNNNNNN

I had hoped Murray to be in the final. I think he would be more of a challenge to Nadal than Djokovic, ok, if fully fit. And I just love watching him play...but both of the semis today let me down

Roger, time for you to be back

This year the whale trophy will be lifted by Nadalito.
This year the Coupe des Mousquetaires will be lifted by Roger.

Re: Indian Wells 2007: Another tournament, new records waiting - good luck Roger

I think it is a good thing to get this 1st round loss now and not in a GS. We should start seeing Federer lose more and more in events other than the GS and personally I don't mind it. It was disappointing to see the dull SF matches because they were beatdowns which didn't contain particularly special tennis but on the whole seeing other players win events is fine so long as Roger can keep his #1 and keep winning GS titles. I would have preffered Roger to get this loss in Miami though, he will never get a winning streak this long again in my opinion but still, he can't win them all and this is his first shocking defeat for a long time. Expect to see more of these in the future.

I know that many of you will disagree but Federer cannot stay dominant forever. He will remain #1 by a wide margin for a while yet I think but I really won't mind if losses like the one this week become a little more common.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

I totally agree that he'll lose more in the future.

However, current No2 has more points than many No1s in the history of the game. It means he can't afford too many early round losses in the mandatory events. Assume the worst case scenario : TFA wins IW, 3 Masters on clay and FO. He will have 600 ponts in the race and 3000 points in the entry ranking. He usually gets at least to the quarters in GS tournaments, that will give him another 750 ranking points. He'll get appr 700-1000 points from optional events. It's 4400- 4700 points in total without Shanghai, Montreal, Cincy, Miami, Madrid, Paris. So, to stay No1 at the end of the year Federer has to get appr 6000 points.

The bad thing about IW is not the loss itself, but the fact that he allowed it to happen in the 1st round.

Hopefully that loss will spur him to do some serious ass kicking in Miami. And hopefully guys that can really challenge Nadal won't bail out early in the tournament.

but the point is that Im happy because Nadal played absolutely incredibly today, and especially on hard courts in America against an American hardourter.
Have to give you that, I was not expecting such a display.

I don't agree with that, I like Rafa but I also love Roger.. I cheer for both, and I think it's a bit childish to totally distroy a player by saying you hate him and all... but that's just my opinion really(not trying to offend anyone) ..
