I was really hoping he'd get at least 1 of (MC, Rome, RG) this year, but he blundered in all of them. Next year above all else I would like to see him take RG and the Olympics (even if that's all he gets).

RG is the ultimate goal and the olympics is a side-benefit but i think its going to be too much to grab em all next year.

This year was mentally and physically taxing for federer. Next year will be worse.

with the clay season compacted and nadal trekking throughout SA MM season and playing barca, MC, Rome etc, I am hoping fed will be good enough to take one of them away from nadal even if its due to fatigue from nadal.

Re: Federer's hit-list!

Maybe I jinxed it.

Federer has not made any headway here since the thread was started in late '06.

Re: Federer's hit-list!

As far as I am concerned, if he wins RG (and maybe Olympics since it seems to matter so much to him), every other tournament in the hit list that he needs to win is irrelevant.

They would not become irrelevant. No title is irrelevant let alone an important one like an AMS.

Only in particular contexts would it become irrelevant.

Re: Federer's hit-list!

It would be very nice and so good for a change if Roger won in Roma, then again Nadal is always the favorite there too. Federer should have won it against was it Mantilla?

Maybe he'l win Paris indoors, but the surface is so slow it's getting slower every year.

For you. The importance of TMSes is very subjective.

Re: Federer's hit-list!

If he gets RG, it is enough - but I can't imagine he'll win it without at least one win against Rafa either in Rome or MC.

Re: Federer's hit-list!

Roger is the favorite in every match he plays. He should be winning every tournament except roland which he can. I cant handle the oz open loss still think of the history he has missed out on:

2005 2006 2007 French opens

2005 2008 oz open

LONG LIVE THE KING

1.Federer
2.Tsonga
3.Safin
4.Roddick

More than Rome, he needs to win MC (preferably against Nadal) since the courts are so similar. Lets see how he does on the HC first.

Some apparently seem to think so.
And I hate to say so, but I'm afraid those people might well have to 'brace for impact' a little more often than they've been used to...
