well i dont think she will win a GS, i like her but so far she tends to choke at the very crucial matches.

Re: Players' Comment on Roger

This was from Moya after playing him at TMC.

Q. Does he intimidate other players? You're old enough, you can go back to the days when Sampras was at his peak. Does he intimidate opponents in the same way Sampras did?

CARLOS MOYA: Well, I think maybe not as much as Sampras, Agassi, Becker, Edberg. But maybe it's because I was much younger than them. Now, I see things different. He's much younger than me. Also, that he talks to all the players, he's very nice guy. I'm not saying that the others are not nice, but they are different - they go, they do their own thing and that's it. Roger is a guy that you can talk to him and he talks to you, he says "hi" every day. So that makes him not as intimidating like maybe the other guys.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Players' Comment on Roger

I like the quote of Hewitt: 'Roger has really cleaned me up this year. I'll go back to the drawing board and hopefully I can get him next year'. HEHEHE

Roger Federer

Jarkko Nieminen > Janko Tipsarevic > Mario Ancic > Gilles Muller > Marco Chiudinelli > David Nalbandian

Re: Players' Comment on Roger

Rusedski on Federer in the AUSOPEN 2005.

Q. You're one of the better students of the game among the players. How do you measure how well Roger is playing right now?

GREG RUSEDSKI: I think he right now is playing better than anybody I've ever played, from Sampras to Agassi. I mean, in Doha, he wasn't even at full tilt yet and he was pretty phenomenal because there's not really a noticeable weakness. I think Pete had a better serve than Roger does, but Roger disguises it very well and builds the point. He can come forward, he can stay back.

I think Roger, if he continues the way he's playing now, can go down as maybe the greatest player to ever play the game. That's hard to say, considering I played most of my tennis during the Sampras era, which everybody said there's nobody that's going to come along and do what he accomplished.

Q. Is there anything that strikes you and makes you go "Wow"?

GREG RUSEDSKI: His backhand used to be a weakness; now it's a weapon. His return of serve, I think he's one of the best return‑of‑serve players in the world. And he can basically do everything.

I think the only way to come at Roger is to come at him and just serve and volley and try to knock him off the court with big serving and just try to come forward. But he's handling every sort of tennis at the moment extremely well.

Q. What about the mental side? That seemed to be a weakness years ago.

GREG RUSEDSKI: I don't think there's any weakness there. I've never seen a No. 1 so relaxed and so well‑liked by all the players. I think he's a great guy, a great world No. 1, a great ambassador for the game. I think the players have nothing but respect for him.

Re: Players' Comment on Roger

Marat Safin, arguably the second-most-talented man on tour calls Roger "a magician"; '04 French Open champ Gaston Gaudio calls him "a genius"; for Agassi he is "an inspiration".

Rod Laver, whose Grand Slam season in 1969 may well be the only one comparable with Federer's 2004, is no less awestruck. Federer's anticipation and court sense, Laver says, leave him wondering, match after match, How did he do that? "It's uncanny," Laver says. "He's never out of place. But you think, How can he never be out of place?"

Re: Players' Comment on Roger

At Wimbledon, last year,Serena W. told a reporter, that she has to hury up after her match,to get out of the shower, because after her Roger is to play on center court and she does not want to miss the match, because he plays the most beautiful tennis.

I mean, Serena says alot of things that make your head spin, but she got up a notch on my list after that comment.
