How many slams CAN Roger win??

This is not the same as how many you think he will win but if all things go smoothly in his career, he isn't injured and he plays well at the big times how many slams do you think it is realistically possible for him to win??

I think it would be possible for him to win a ridiculous 20!!

he already has 7. This year I think it is a real possibility he will take the grand slam. If this happens I don't think he has much hope of taking more than two slams the follwing year.

That would give him 13. He could then win 2 for the next 2 years in my opinion. This would give him 17 and then I think he could win another 1 for three years after that leaving him with 20

Note: I don't predict this to happen and I don't honestly think it is even at all likely.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

He can win 20. But he also can take only 1 or 2 more ... Such a tough prediction to do .

Hmm 7 + 3 + 2 = 13
No wonder you think the'll make 20!!!

that's a bit much i think but even when he shouldn't pass Sampras record (which I think is possible) he'll be the best player for me

Re: How many slams CAN Roger win??

Really impossible to say, and I don't mean to dodge the question.

Sampras was dominating at age 25, with 7 slams to his name, and he went on to win 7 more!

McEnroe looked utterly invincible at age 25, and he never won another slam again.

All it takes is one or two players who are able to trouble Fed, and his results could drop. Think of what Sampras did to Agassi's career stats, or what Fed is doing to his contemporaries.

Also, there's no guarantee of great physical condition... injuries spring up out of nowhere sometimes. And even a small drop in confidence or mental strength could make a huge difference for Federer.

When are people going to get tired from such questions? The "average" answer is always the same- from none to 20

OK, winning 10 GS is a realistic goal at this point.

i think thats overly conservative...unless fed's ankle is really bad.

I forsee him winning 12. He will have one year of winning 2 gs, and will win probably one for the next three years until 27-28 when age catches up.

i think he will still be #1 for a while, but his domination like the last few years is over. i think the ankle is really not 100%, and in some matches it clearly bothered him.

anyways, i think its time to start archiving his matches, i dont know if i will see such unbelievable performances in a long time.
He seems to win now by being mentally strong rather than playing breathtaking tennis. I want to see roger federer the artist, not pete sampras the machine.

I say 15, it would be nice if he could hold all four this year. I really want to see him win the french.

Ask me again when (and if) he wins 10 Slams. At this point I don't want to look beyond 10. It's already a very impressive number, especially if you remember 2000-2002. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure it's a reality.

This kind of injury doesn't have to be chronic. He has to give it the opportunity to heal, once and for all. If it means skipping some tourneys, then so be it.

I think 10 may be too less, 14 is better~!

Federer has the skills to compensate for any mental lapse. Most of his matches are really up to him as to hard difficult or easy they will be. I know it is arrogant but it is the truth. I think any big losses would only spur him on moreso because so far history has shown that.

I'd say 16 if he stays healthy.
