Re: Videos of Roger

This is a shortclip of Roger vs Blake at USO 03, and THIS is why people were drooling all over Roger even before he dominated. This is how you hit a forehand. I miss the old Roger who would run around his backhand all day.

Clip

Thanks.

I watched the clip few weeks ago. It was very impressive. A wonderful collection of shots and rallies. I remember watching this one live back in 2003 and only remember how he wasted his bps (worst bp conversion ratio ever). But watching the clip again, I realized how I miss the Roger back then. So different from the Roger now. He simply attacked in every single forehand...

It was indeed incredible tennis to watch but now he plays tennis that works and we can see the outcome. 4 x Wimbledon, 3 x US Open and 2 x Australian Open.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

I know. So I was not saying I don't like the Roger now It's just, he plays effective and consistent and still stylish tennis now, but a little bit less enjoyable and entertainable than before. Anyway we all understand it's consistency which makes the dominance possible not entertainment or any stunning factors.

becker on fed

mac the mouth

i appreciate becker's comments more because he is not so flighty and much more realistic. Mcenroe's comments are more flattering but they dont mean as much because he vacillates so often.

I don't mean to blow my own trumpet or anything, but that did take a LOT of work to sync correctly.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.
