I must have dreamed it, but I could have sworn I saw somewhere that he pulled out

Thank goodness no. Sydney is going to be very interesting this year, it's a very strong field. Good luck, Roger!

ROGI, let's have fun and go for it! You're up vs. Squillari -- you know what your mission is, baby.

Hi Doris!

Here's an article from blick:

Artikel vom 7. Januar 2003 / Quelle: Blick

Federer
Der Jäger ist jetzt ein Gejagter <?? what is Jager??

VON CÉCILE KLOTZBACH AUS AUSTRALIEN

TENNIS SYDNEY

Wie ein Profi eben: Federer beim Stretching.
FOTO: ANDREAS BLUMENTHAL

<braun -- tanned? mude? Corretja said this in Gstaad!

<??? acht what? what about Doha?

<he's signing autographs and doing photo sessions??

<??

This is odd. I had a bad feeling even before i saw the result and now that i've seen the result the feeling is VERY bad.

What happened Rogi? maybe he's saving it all for the AO. Hope so. And Lapentti lost real bad too. What, did they have the same thing to eat or sthing? *sigh*

Well, in other news, Guga won his match against a quali and now he plays another quali. What is it w him and quali's? and of all ppl it's Michael Russell! you all remember him?! he had MP against Guga at the FO in 2001. *sigh*

Hi RF
Sorry I really haven't got time for translations right now.
Just said that flying out of Doha was kind of awquad as there aren't so many flights. And that Roger is followed by fans for every step he's doing. It's like that since Shanghai he said. He's pretty popular among the fans (oh yes he is :P)
And he likes it to be in aussi land where the mantality matches perfectly with his.

Well the ranking hunter is now the hunted one (Jäger = hunter)
Müde = tired and you got braun = tanned right.

Lily
I had the very same bad feeling when I found out who he had to play first...

....guess we both were right with our feelings.

Well good luck now in the AO Roger!!

Opps even more bad news!!

Apparently Roger has injured his adductores on the right leg.....
... he felt the injury already in Doha. Now he'll see with his Phisio when he'll travel to Melbourne. Looks like he's really worried about it.

Well keep the fingers crossed for you Roger that it isn't as bad and that you still will be able to play AO!!
Get well soon Roger!!

Oh no Rogi! I was wondering how he was physically!! Oh pls let this be a minor injury!! Poor Rogi... I hate it when I don't know what's going on... when he lost to JMG in Doha we couldn't get scores for hours and ILR and everyone had this feeling that it was NOT a good sign and we were right!! Rogi must be feeling really bad. I knew he couldn't just LOSE to Squillari [come on!]... I was worried it was his mental [which he still needs to work on -- once that's sorted, he'll really be unbeatable (even Maratski is working on his! ).

I hope the crowd wasn't hard on him!
