Roger should add more clay events (like the South American leg)

Why not? With Hamburg and Gstaad, Roger seems interested in allowing new (or really old fans) to experience watching him play. In addition, he is the second greatest clay courter of hos generation. He dominates Ferrer, who is the only other top 5 player that plays down there (unless Rafa decides to stop by again). Clay courts reward shot making, which is Rogers forte. Also, it is the easiest surface on the body and if he really wants to play a few more years, it would be wise to stick to clay.

Thoughts??

He will never do that.

He only added these 2 tournaments, Hamburg and Gstaad, to his schedule because of the early Wimbledon loss and as a trial for his new racquet. With age he tends to have a smaller schedule with only the slams, mandatory masters 1000, Halle and Basel (and the last couple years Rotterdam as well). I can't see his schedule changing too much from this.

I wouldn't be so sure. I think he likes the idea of visiting new places.
The masters aren't mandatory for him anymore.
He's just playing tennis for himself now.

If it means missing out on Rotterdam and Dubai I don't think it is the best option, these are some of his best surfaces. Also, I'm guessing Nadal will play the SA leg next year just like this year, so it would be hard to win them

also hard for the tournament directors to come up with that much appearance fee money for 2 mega-stars.

Fed's 2013 schedule is pretty much exactly what I'd recommend for him. I would add Miami if they ever sped up the court, and perhaps Zagreb if he loses early in the Australian. The priority is playing as many fast court and indoor events, and prioritizing those events gives him a lot of rest since they're kind of extinct from Dubai to Halle.
