The Gstaad Thread : Roger's Homecoming

Hey guys , thought i'd opened up my first thread on here Give it a go see if i can bring Roger some luck on his homecoming

We all witnessed Roger try his new racquet in Hamburg and make the semis in a TIGHT semis match.
Here's wishing Roger best of luck in Gstaad and hoping he can win the tournament and gain some form , confidence and more technique with his new racquet

2nd round will either be Brands like Hamburg or the Wild Card Chiudinelli another Swiss man

Re: The Gstaad Thread : Roger's Homecoming

Thanks for opening the thread.

May it be a successful one

I was joking yesterday about Roger getting to play against Marco and then I heard that they could indeed play against each other but I think it's highly unlikely considering the form of Daniel Brands.

Hopefully it will be an advantage for Roger that he got to play against the German this week in Hamburg but we have all seen how dangerous he can be.

Re: The Gstaad Thread : Roger's Homecoming

Roger has to win this tournament urgently. He needs something positive before the NA HC season starts.

It's do or die. Roger has to win Gstaad, Brands or Marco are just the 1st of his victims.

VAMOS Roger!!!!!

Thanks for opening, Walto!

I don't agree this is do or die, but I'm hoping for a good result Gstaad has only been won by a home player twice since 1968, by Günthardt in 1980 and Federer in 2004. Time for another, I'd say

Why am I thinking this may not be good? Someone remind me of Roger's record this year in playing against the same person twice?

Good luck with the thread, Walto69 - we sure could use it.

"When I'm asked, how is it to be around Federer, and what is he really like, I always reply, "I wish people could meet him when cameras or an audience aren't around, as he is one of the nicest people I have ever met when stringing on tour. " -- drakulie

Against Davydenko, 2 wins.
Against Tsonga, first a win, then a loss.
Against Benneteau, first a loss, then a win.
Against Simon, 2 wins.
Against Paire, 2 wins.

So no trend to do worse.
