Re: The Federer Fan Introduction Thread

Hi everyone
I've been on mtf for almost a month now and have never properly introduced myself

I'm a 24 yr old law student(entering the working world next year), lived in the U.S for most of my life, everyone calls me 'jo'.

I actually can't remember when i became a rogi fan; whenever it was, i've been captivated ever since. One of plans for the future is to see a live grand slam match. I'm really having fun on this site, it's nice to interact with people who have alot of interest in the sport.

Re: The Federer Fan Introduction Thread

Hi everyone!

I'm Ofir, 25 from Israel.
Like Ron I'm due to finish my math degree on february and...begin my second.

I first saw Roger play against Enqvist in the 2000 Basel final, and although he lost that match in 5 I couldn't ignore the vast potential.
Then came the lingering period of disappointments (what was I thinking...? he was merely a teenager), but when I watched the 2003 Wimbledon semis I knew I was witnessing something huge - and boy, was I right or what?

Re: The Federer Fan Introduction Thread

Hi Everyone!

I am ageless, from the East Coast of usa, but living in the northern sector of california since 1964! I've been a tennis fan since before 6th grade. In 7th grade we had to write a career notebook, and I chose "professional tennis". My favs then were Aussie's and Vic Seixes

I started playing when my parents ruined my life and sent me to overnight camp at 9 years old. Maybe the clay courts reminded me of the beach I no longer got to go to in the summers. From the first I liked the sport best because there was so much to do. I wasn't just standing in left field Actually, I liked it before that! My friends and I,in grade school, about 10 of us would congregate on one court and "play".

I was a Hingis fan, and Guga fan, a Rios fan, a Santoro fan, a Pat Rafter fan, and became a Roger fan in 2000-2001. Saw him in 2002 & 2003 at Indian Wells.

In non-tennis life I have always written, stories and poems. I am a retired HS teacher, and psychologist. I am currently writing a tennis memoir, just fisnishing the "shitty first draft..." Before I started coming here, more, I felt like I was all alone with Roger. Now I have to learn to share, lol. It is great to have a place to hear the latest, and this is the best place!

Re: The Federer Fan Introduction Thread

Hi all,

My name is laura , too --I see I am not the only one... I enjoy this site & visit quite often , so I figure its time to introduce myself.
I live in NYC & have been a fan of tennis for at least 12 years & Roger's fan since this past USO. His game & his smile made me a fan for life. Was there when he won the USO--a moment I will NEVER forget.

My other fav players: Mark.P, Nadal, Haas,Moya, Hewitt, AA, Gonzales & Massu (doubles) & my all time fav thats retired is Patrick Rafter!

I work as a bank teller (boring) but hopefully I will be returning to school soon so I can get a better job & make lots of money to support my tennis habit!

Thanks for this site & for all the great pictures of Rog!! LOVE THEM!!!

cheers & Happy Holidays!!!

Yea! I am a HS teacher and I have a degree in behavioral psychology~ (I teach Latin, Spanish and etymology)~
My name is Luna and I live in the southern USA~~but spent most of my childhood and early teens in Mexico.(D.F.)

I used to be an off and on again Sampras fan, but not to the extent that I am a Roger fan. He had me the first time I saw him play.
I think he's the next best thing to chocolate! Really.

He has certainly brought me back into the world of tennis. After Sampras retired, I lost all enthusiasm for the sport.

I'm a 'sucker' for class~~and as far as I'm concerned Roger could be its *poster boy*!
Outstanding ~on and off the court!

Observation: All Federer fans I've met are classy, too~~and great fun!
Happy Weekend, everyone~

Allez
Roger

Re: The Federer Fan Introduction Thread

Well, most of you know already who I am.
To most of you I am known as Fedex; been a Federer fan since 01 Wimbledon when he defeated Sampras. I've followed tennis since the early 80's, and was an Edberg fan in the 80's, and later Rafter became my favourite player. I live in the US, although I do NOT support its tennis players, or our government leaders, lol. I live in Boston, and support the Red Sox. (obviously).

I gotta try out some of these quizzes later, but I don't visit the board enough to get high scores.

My real name is Levin, I am chinese, currently living in Canada, 18. Became a Roger fan.... darn, I am not sure when, I was hooked before I knew it, so...

It's ok, you're not the only one who fell for it. But for the record I do also hold a British passport.

Well, I guess its good to know that I'm in the same boat as some other people. I wonder who else fell for it.
