Amazing JediFed...
As I told my friend yesterday, when you thought there are no more records to break, Roger will find one and break it!

Great match from both. Milos looks to be in great form, I'm worried for Rog.

Fed's back holding up?? 2 dfs in the 1st service game of the 3rd set, the white shirt under his polo.

didn't really like his play today. pushing and pushing, Tomic dictating on big points, movement was off, don't think he made like more than 2 running fhs for the match esp when his movement to the right was amazing vs Davy.

Maybe you have to go back and think, Why have I started playing tennis? Because I just like it. It's actually sort of a dream hobby that became somewhat of a job. Some people just don't get that ever."

Couldn't see anything wrong with his back. The DFs surely had to do with his low % on 2nd serve. He was on 29% at one time. Not strange he then went a little more for his 2nd serves.

Actually, I stand corrected. Federer Owns this record now. 35/35 - same length as the QF streak which started in Wimbledon 2004, the QF streak is now longer than all but Lendl's 2R, and Lendl's 1R appearances.

the fatigue, he seemed knackered after the tiebreak. i don't like how his movement was at the start of the match. very little "finesse" involved.

Nope, I was right. He has tied the record. Still needs 3 more wins at the French Open.

Also interesting - to match Jimmy Connor's longevity, Federer would have to extend the QF streak for 8 more slams.

Stats:
Aces: 11
DF: 4
1st serve in: 69%
1st serve won: 88%
2nd serve won: 45%
W/UE ratio: 46/20
Break points conversion: 3/16
Ah! stats don't lie.

Delighted with the W/UE ratio and the first serve points won. Don't know if they have changed the surface a bit, but Roger hasn't looked this good in AO since 2010.

As for the match, my opinion on Tomic has totally changed. He's maybe the most mature 20 year old I've seen in a while. Really see a slam coming for him in the next year or two. But Rogers delectable volleys and forehands carried him through comfortably. Great match overall.

Great from Roger! I could watch most of the first set in streaming from work.

Ufortunately had a lot of things to do after that and couldn't watch a lot but still, great match!

8th day of July 2012: 7-time Wimbledon champion!

Once upon a time there was a myth about strong and weak eras. On this glorious day the clownery was eventually unmasked: 30 y.o. past-prime daddy Fed became #1 once again in the supposed strong "Spartan" era with his rivals at their peak.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Long live King Federer!
