Where was Federer? In the Opening Ceremony

Hi all,

I spent 2 hours waiting for Switzerland to come out just to see Federer.

All I saw was a few second worth of Wawrinka carrying the flag and the TV channel moved onto the next country. Federer wasn't even mentioned.

Was he there?

Thanks

That's too bad. Where was he?

I do think he didn't really fit in there though. It just wouldn't feel right. He's more famous and accomplished than all the other athletes put together.

Everyone else is just an athlete. He's a legend, an icon, and a brand.

Re: Where was Federer? In the Opening Ceremony

I guess he was at Wimbledon Village resting up for his match today, alot of tennis players weren't there last night.

I agree with you, i think all the other athletes know he is a whole level above them. The reason why he is not staying at the olympic village and didnt stay there in Beijing either was because he is one of the most sort after athletes for photos.

Re: Where was Federer? In the Opening Ceremony

Sorry for you you should have read more this section of the forum before

Bolt was there, Djokovic, the Queen he would have fit as well !

But Roger has done it twice already, it finished at 1 o'clock local time, plus the excitation ... better prepare sleep well before today's match and a tournament with many matches (we hope) and a lot of concentration required.

For instance Benneteau took part in this ceremony and I wonder how he will be today against Youzhny in second match and in doubles tonight as well

useless old guy
