Don't say that.
If we can't believe in Federer, we can't believe in tennis.

I'd always have hope he could beat both, Djokovic and Nadal on clay... And the legend will still grow up.

Re: ROLAND GARROS 2012: The Quest for lost Treasure

so in the end had he got the #2 seed it woulda been NoleDal semi and Fed would have had a cakewalk into the final (see Nadal's draw altho doesnt matter what draw Nadal gets here, he'd be in final anyway)

just goes to show those fine ranking margins what a diff they make

not really motivated about this slam (altho last time i felt like that was 2009 RG )

will be happy if he makes QF and keeps the QF streak going, also he should break Jimmy Connors GS wins record during this event.

Re: ROLAND GARROS 2012: The Quest for lost Treasure

I want a SF for RF here and then he can focus on the surface which nowadays only resembles grass. My only 'worry' is that Novak has been playing like crap and if he doesn't improve, I don't see him stopping an in-form Roger. This means Roger would have to play two really draining matches. I do hope if he gets by Djoko, it's not a gruelling affair like last year.

Re: ROLAND GARROS 2012: The Quest for lost Treasure

its interesting and a very annoying dilemma this RG, what would we rather have? Nadull getting another GS closer to Fed or Nole completing the GS and holding all four at once - which Fed never did

almost feel i'd rather see Nadal win, pure agony to say that

like asking if you'd rather amputate a leg or an arm

come on you can't live with envy : look at Roger isn't he a happy man ?

Here in this forum some prefer Djokovic like me, some others prefer Nadal, I don't know if that many ones dislike both of them like you

PS : if Fed had been seeded 2, he might have drawn Nadal in semi, it would have been worse

Oh, I dislike both. But RN has a special share in my dislike portion - meaning 99.9% so it limits my desire to hate on others.

My best bet is for Roger to take out Djoker and for some magic ala Soderking to occur at the other side of the draw - hard to see with the randomness of the draw though.

a little bit the same for me : I like Nole but I hate Nadal even more, which means that I enjoyed sweet bad pleasures watching Djokovic beating him last year

And I'm looking forward to Nole beating Nadal in RG final if that happens, would be a great pleasure day

As for Djokovic holding 4 slams, well it would be very well deserved and he's a great player imo

Re: ROLAND GARROS 2012: The Quest for lost Treasure

Federer was feeling very tired after Madrid which was best of 3. Now he will be playing 4 best of 5 matches till reaching the QF. Then he will face Berdych/Del Potro. Tough matches for sure. I wonder how will he feel physically by the time SF approaches and he has to face Djoker. He may be too tired or mentally fatigued, you never know. I feel his physical fitness and mental freshness is the key for him in any grand slam. If he feels great, he should be the favorite against Djokovic at RG.

Re: ROLAND GARROS 2012: The Quest for lost Treasure

Indeed, that's true. The issue is I think his chances of another major will be better served if he retains his mental and physical energy for Wimbledon.

The draw is so unfair. But then again, don't think making the Semis should be a problem.

Re: ROLAND GARROS 2012: The Quest for lost Treasure

Interesting conundrum as everyone here is saying: One step closer to 16 or the four in a row?

My actual real worry for Federer is more about the scheduling however. As shanks mentioned, Federer was tired after Madrid which was after a six week break. Now from here to Wimbledon (the main goal), he will be playing RG, hopefully up to at least the semis, then immediately Halle (which he has to play this year) and then Wimbledon after a weeks break.

Irrespective of the above, RG will be interesting for sure this year. And as said previously, I'm actually quite optimistic about RG and SW19.

Re: ROLAND GARROS 2012: The Quest for lost Treasure

Federer 2nd on Court Suzanne Lenglen tomorrow.

Full Schedule: http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/sc...schedule7.html

I don't understand the RG organizers, Simon on Chatrier and Federer on Lenglen.
