Re: I'm so uneasy

I know. I'm beginning to think the Andy Roddick will win prediction might come to fruition. Every ten years an American wins. Chang in 89, Agassi in 99 and Andy Roddick in 09? Agassi is also presenting the trophy. Oh man, can you imagine? I sincerely hope this doesn't happen. Keep it together Roger!

Re: I'm so uneasy

Honestly I think IF Roger is going to win this tournament he would win it regardless of what Nadal did. I'm certainly not counting my chickens before they hatch, but I don't understand why Nadal being out now dooms Roger.

And why is anyone talking about Roddick? So far he's beaten Romain Jouan, Ivo Minar and Marc Giquel. OK fine he's made the most of his draw, but it's not like he's beaten a slew of great clay court players or dangerous floaters. Had Roddick played Acasuso, Kohli or Soderling does anyone really think he'd still be in the tournament? It's not like he's hitting his opponents off the court. In every one of his matches, excluding aces, his opponent has hit more winners than him. It's just that none of them were close to being capable of bossing him around. Someone like Monfils, or Federer or Haas are.

He needs to concentrate on his next amtch only & not think about finals or winning, act as if Rafa were still in the draw & nothing has changed from that. Hopefully he won't act like RG is already won because Rafa isn't about.

I agree. There are still a some tricky opponents out there and I hope Rog doesn't let his guard down just because Rafa is out of the picture.

Roddick going on to win RG this year would fit right in with all the other crazy upsets So hope the pressure doesn't get to Roger

You are either lying or a fool if you truly think Nadal being out doesn't have any impact on Roger. Let's say if Roger is in the final, what would you think if the opponent was Nadal, and if it was not? Tell me you would think the same...(and don't tell me Roger is not in yet)

Stop being nastily objective when you are not if you are a fan

I agree, Roger can talk about only looking ahead to the next match/opponent all he wants but surely he knows as well as anyone else that with Nadal out, he actually has a genuine shot at winning RG and his 14th GS. And I don't think now being the outright favourite to win is going to do Roger any good

Add me to the nail-biting, terrified list.

I just have this awful feeling Murray is going to break his heart in the final

I think I liked the prospect of Roger losing to Nadal in the final more
Yes, I know, I'm probably in desperate need of psychiatric help

Re: I'm so uneasy

I like Murray very much actually but not as much as Roger. And I'm still petrified

He'll never get another chance like this - it's just so stark and he's wanted it for so long.

Mustn't jump the gun - he's got today and the QF and SF to get through yet. I do not relish the prospect of him playing JWT in front of his home crowd either so go JMDP today!
