Re: The "We are counting the days until the Australian Open" chat thread

Happy New Year, everyone. I just got Stauffer's Das Tennisgenie as a belated Christmas present, so guess what I shall be reading for the next ... however long it takes me to get through a book in German?

Funny stuff is going on this season. The "cannot post" was new. At least this solved itself.

Re: The "Fedex shows his magic" chat thread

Hi there, dear folks!

I haven't been around lately, as I've been very busy with my work as a social lawyer for the poor and deprived people in my country lately (most of all, voluntary work, btw ), but I'd like to let you all know that all's well with me, just very busy, but I haven't missed anything of Roger's matches as of yet, and neither will I miss his upcoming match against Jo-Willie tomorrow morning.
Rog has very much impressed me so far, especially his serve, which might well be THE key to bring him further in this tournament. Hope he manages to keep it going!

I just cannot express how *gutted* I felt for Stan, losing that match against Houdinovic (GREAT nick, thanks Doris! ) - it may well be the most saddest I felt ever since the AO final 2009, for the player that lost the match! / and this without Stan Wawawrinka even being a fav of mine until so far, well he IS, now / what a heroic effort!!!

In contrary to what was the case at that aforementioned AO 2009 final (Rafa showing himself a very understanding and warm hearted victor against Rog at that time), at this particular occassion I felt incapable to feel any sympathy for the winner at all, even the less when I watched Houdinovic tearing up his shirt like a possessed gorilla like he did after the match. So far for showing the required respect for your opponent after such a match, eh?? Ugh.
Don´t mind me, it´s just my personal opinion.

Hope all´s well with you folks, and let´s hope the best for Roger in a couple of hours.

to ye all!

Good to see you back on the forum

Sometimes it's necessary to take a break from MTF but of course also sometimes other parts in life are more important

I wouldn't say that Novak didn't show respect to Stan even though I don't like the striptease either.

But maybe he has to let out his emotions this way

(Or he applies for a job with the Chippendales after his tennis career )

It was not the first close or important match Novak won but even when you have been so successful you will always be under pressure.

He was very fair with what he said about Stan and the match and in the end that's what counts.

It's really a pity for Stan that he couldn't use his chances but he got so many positive and encouraging comments for his performance and I'm pretty sure the people in Geneve next week will welcome him with a really loud applause when he plays the Davis Cup

Hi Karin I'm glad to hear you're doing well.
I struggled through the first week of AO but I took the second week off so I could stay up all night and watch the matches (11 am in Melbourne is 7 pm here; Roger's night matches start at 3:30 am). It's going to be tough to get off the nocturnal schedule next week.
