Re: Good luck Roger in the Olympics!!!!!

I would only EVER cheer for Fish/Roddick, if i felt it gave Rogi/Yves a better chance at a metal. And it does tremendously. If Roger/Allegro play Roddick/Fish that would be far, FAR, FAR easier than playing Paes.

Re: Good luck Roger in the Olympics!!!!!

Daveydenko pushed Federer earlier this year at Miami, so, so close to taking him out. Up a break in the 3rd i believe. But that was ages ago, and Federer had been tired from his IW victory. If Roger plays well, it shouldent be much of a problem. Its really a good draw till the QF where he will likely play Nalbandian, but before that it should be smooth sailing

Re: Good luck Roger in the Olympics!!!!!

I don't think too much should be made of the Miami match. Davydenko is a crafty and tricky customer, but remember Rogi had the flu back then and he was tired coming off a tough tournament victory in IW. So, if he stays focused and plays at his best, I don't forsee too much of a problem.

Re: Good luck Roger in the Olympics!!!!!

Olympic time! I always have great memories following this event but never tennis...this time round, my priorities had completely changed

How nice will it be if he and Yves can win a medal? I suppose WyveN overlooked the possible Paes/Bhupathi? How can that be easy WyveN?

But why does he and Nalbandian always have to be in the same quarter? I don't think that first round match vs Davydenko in Miami will be a good indication too, we all know Rogi was recovering from sickness going into that tournament.

btw did you guys see Rogi's pic in Athens in his "dorm"? Really does look like he's going back to the students "dormitory" life he so longer for

I think the only action I will get on Rogi here is him carrying the flag...so carry it well, Rogi

Re: Good luck Roger in the Olympics!!!!!

Good luck to Roger!. I like his draw. David is maybe the most dangerous there, but he has not won a match since RG. We'll see!

In 1st round:

Roger FEDERER v Nikolay DAVYDENKO
Roger FEDERER LEADS 2 : 0
2002 Milan Carpet (I) R16 Roger FEDERER 6-3 6-7(5) 7-5
2004 Miami Hard (O) R64 Roger FEDERER 6-2 3-6 7-5

Re: Good luck Roger in the Olympics!!!!!

Time to wish our Rogi good luck in the Olympics.

Don't quite like the draw. David is way too close And would badly like to see how Rogi vs Andy goes in the doubles, must be a worse trash Go Andy

Rogi, listen carefully!! You are not allowed to not get to the final, coz that's the only chance I can get you live. So you have to know what you should do...

I'm not surprised. It's always either David or Hewitt. Hewitt is not available, so... Davidenko belongs to the strange crop of players who can give Roger some problems- no pace, running down everything.
