I wouldn't be surprised if he does pull out - he seems rather tired and frustrated with his game - but he can't withdraw from next week's event whilst he is still participating in a tournament this week. I'm sure he won't be the only one though, Coria and Ferrero are both injured, so maybe they won't play either.
Some people suggested Roger will pull out of Cincy, he has looked a bit tired in Toronto, especially his footwork but who knows what Roger's thoughts are.
could happen, but i think roger's just taking his time in these matches. he hasn't played really well in any of them, but he's still winning with relative comfort just biding his time. he's settling into tournaments the way sampras used to. you hardly ever saw him win 6-2 6-3 or anything.
~~~Roger Federer (18 GS): Wimbledon 2003, AO 2004, Wimbledon 2004, US Open 2004, Wimbledon 2005, US Open 2005, AO 2006, Wimbledon 2006, US Open 2006, AO 2007, Wimbledon 2007, US Open 2007, US Open 2008, Roland Garros 2009, Wimbledon 2009, AO 2010, Wimbledon 2012, AO 2017 ~~~
So he's not going to pull out (according to his Toronto final interview). He did consider not playing in either of the TMS, but if it went well in Toronto he'd play Cincy too. He seems to think that a week either side of the Olympics will give him enough time.
Hrbaty first up then, and he's 0-1. That match was nearly 4 years ago at Bercy though, so I'm not sure we can read a lot into that result.
rogi just win a couple of rds and go to athens... don't overdo it... i get concerned about your health, don't want you to end up like Lleyt and Juanqui... take care of yourself
Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!
But that's only the second of Pete's streak. Pete's 24 match winning streak was done in 99, but he had a 29 game winning streak back in 94. If Roger wants to break that, he will at least have to win this tournament.
But I am not expecting him to do so, so, let's at least break Pete's second streak.
