Roger Federer Made $35 Million Last Year

Forbes has just released the new "Celebrity 100" list and Roger Federer has been placed #23 on the list because he made $35 million between June 2007 and June 2008.

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/53/...erer_SWSL.html

Rafael Nadal surprisingly didn't make the list.

What do you all think? Does the $35 million for the last 12 months seem about right or a bit higher or lower than you would have thought?

I'm surprised Nadal didn't make the list because he is young, is the #2 and has a media friendly image.

it is normal for a sportman like fed, and you know tennis is increasing every day, new sponsors,media... and i guess they are not counting the guarantees from tournaments.

Great for Federer. He deserves it..especially for his charity. Hopefully at least next season he will continue to make lots of money.

I'm not surprised about Nadal. He won the clay season (including the French). Came close at Wimby but after that Nadal didn't do so well. This year may be different for him. I think it also helps Federer because he speaks so many languages.

Volandri should be on the list as well.

Good to see Federer didn't go hungry last year.

Re: Roger Federer Made $35 Million Last Year

So apparently Nadal didn't rack up enough media coverage to qualify for the top 100 though I would assume that between June 07' - June 08' that he probably made at least $15 million.

David Nalbandian would be number 1 on this list, he just spent all of his money on mcdonalds.

Your yearly earnings tally doesn't get deducted just because you spent it, even if on something as trivial as McDonalds.

Good on Roger. I expected him to earn a lot more given that he is as dominant in tennis as Tiger Woods is in golf. And Tiger earned about a $100 mils. Nevertheless, good job Roger
