In case anyone wants a good rant Borg says in the article below that he wouldn't be surprised if Roger retired after this year and he has Roger as his 3rd favorite behind Nadal and Djokovic to win Wimbledon, yet he still picks Roger to end the year at #1.

Poor, poor Borg. Sniffing coke really does damage to your mental health.

I think Borg's comments are worse than anything Mats Wilander said.

So now Roger can go into his pre-Wimbledon press conference/media requests being asked about these comments from Borg. That's like the last thing he needs.

Poor Borg. As for Djoko's latest, I think Fed will be concerned when he sees the young one coming out in court with his first Adidas suit.

Rafa's the angel, eh? Djoko suits the part of a devil very well, I think
What's Roger there? Stuck in between those two?

Roger is experienced enough to deal with such kind of things. No need to worry

I have read also the comments on Borg's comment.
Some think that Borg is just jealous. But he said
last year that he would like for Federer to break his
record. And how could he hug Roger after the final RG?
Not in order to encourage Roger? Not with love?
I don't know why Borg gave us the comment like that.
We only know that all the tennis fans want to enjoy more
and more Roger's play and watch more and more the final Roger vs
Rafa.

How can anyone take Borg seriously - the guy who wanted to sell his Wimbledon trophies - paid £20K to get them back and then said he'd never part with them ...

He was presented with a Gerald Scarfe cartoon of himself when he arrived here and was asked whether he minded his record of 5 consec Wimbledons being beaten. The interviewer told him "Go on you can be honest about it" ... and though Borg said that records were meant to be broken, he didn't actually give a straight answer - so I deduced from that, he does mind! They all guard their records jealousy - no matter who they are or how generous they may have been in the past. That might be Pete's thinking in travelling anywhere in the world to see Roger try + get his 15th slam ... to put him off. I know - I'm a terrible cynic

well I just hope Roger don't stop at "12" slams. It would be some kind of disappointment after coming so close so fast. Of course 12 slams is an AWESOME career, tied for 2nd best EVER, but still, when you feel the player can do more...

If he ties 14 I'm happy. 15th would be a dream. It's looking so distant now . If he won like wimbledon 6 and us open 5 this year there would be no doubt of who is the best ever, as what Roger is doing is a lot more impressive than anyone ever did

More from Sampras:

Quote:
“There is a burning desire in Roger to break my record, and when he does it I would like to be there,” Sampras said Thursday. “I said to Roger, ‘Just make sure it’s in New York or London. Australia is a long way to go. (But) if it worked out like that, I would fly there.’

“I would just let him enjoy it as his moment but (I would want to be there) just to respect the record and what he was able to do and to just say, ‘Congratulations.”’

With Rafa's 28-0 mark at the French overshadowing everything, maybe Roger can "fly under the radar" and take another Wimbly w/o anyone knowing!
