Re: *******Davidoff Swiss Indoors 2007*******

it wasnt a good match
first set was good performace from rog
but in the second he lost his focus and berrer gain his
then roger charged the gear in the third ,but still a lot of ufs
good luck 2nd round

ROGER FEDERER

the recipe is simple yet but extremely rare:buckets of athletic ability coupled with gallons of mental tenacity are the core ingredients that produce a Tiger Woods,a Michael Jordan...a Roger Federer

roger is the best

Good, he came through....and thanks again to you,
UdaciRoger ~~~~~~~~~~~~I was able to watch the 3rd. set..

OT...
I really needed something to take my mind off of the California fires.
My brother's two homes have been evacuated... (He moved from there a few months ago to Boston, other side of the country)..but we are all very emotionally tied to that area...many friends there, etc. and it is horrible.

My thought are with anyone who lives in S. California.
So sad.

Allez

Luna, I hope nobody of your family and friends has been harmed by the happenings there

About todays match:

Roger insisted to play today to get a day off tomorrow. I don't know when he arrived in Basel and how long he could train before the match.

Berrer came really well into the match after a nervous performance in the first set. He had over 80% on 1st serve in the second set whilst Roger seemed to be anywhere but not on the court until being down 0:4.
Too many UEs from Roger and he clearly wasn't convinced with his performance today, but the only thing which counts is the win.

It is absolutely terrible. I feel so bad for everyone in that area. Hopefully no more people will die. I think 2 have died. It's just terrible.

Re: *******Davidoff Swiss Indoors 2007*******

I started to watch in the beginning of the 3rd set. He did not look all that horrible, but Berrer was able to draw erros from Fed's bh by pinning him into that corner a few times.

Amazing shot but the second set : Roger I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because he hasn't had much time to practice and get used to the conditions but he better up his level for the next matches ( although if he loses early he should go to Paris for which I have tickets : cruel dilemma )

I'm not sure. I know I read somewhere that they were switching from carpet to indoor hard, but I'm not sure what year that was supposed to happen.

Re: *******Davidoff Swiss Indoors 2007*******

This is what Roger said after his match yesterday:

Quote:
"My focus is on Basel, not last week," Federer said. "That said, it's a probably a good thing to get right back into it after a final loss."

"I'm now having to explain why I lost a set. It's almost laughable," Federer said. "It happens. I wish I could have played better in the second. I was struggling on serve and on the baseline. But I never felt 100 percent comfortable all match."

"The conditions are different here, slower," Federer said. "The balls are really heavy here. It's hard to put away a winner. I'm glad I came through in the end."
