So how is Rogers form?

I haven't been able to watch any of the US Open matches. What's the general verdict of Rogers form so far in the Open. He's lost two sets, but is there any reason for concern? Is the forehand back where it's supposed to be? What about the backhand, serve, movement, etc?

Re: So how is Rogers form?

I think he looks great. Top form and A+ game. Forehand + Bakchand working. Movement great. Serve great.

The losses of 2 sets was not because he played bad.

Isner is an increible server. The first set was an amazing display of serving from him. Not many chances for Federer. But as the match went on, he started to figure out Isners sreve and he wrapped the match up without trouble.

The set against Lopez was also not bad. Lopez served incredible that set, also his groundstrokes were on fire. But Federer then upped his level when he needed. Then there was nothing Lopez could do..

So I am very happy with his form. He should win the title playing like this.

Australian Open - 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010
Roland Garros - 2009
Wimbledon - 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012
US Open - 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008

I think he's in cruise control he hasn't made any jaw-dropping errors and increased the tempo when he needed it, he looks 100% better than he did in Canada were he couldn't buy a forehand return!

Cool! Sounds good, then. Hopefully he'll keep it up for the rest of the tournament!

He's perfect. AO form.

LOL, and a few weeks ago we thought his AO form would never return, and then he goes ahead and wins 35 straight points on his serve and makes 1 UFE in two sets.

Yes but the real test will be when he comes up against players that have good returns and solid all round baseline games like Davydenko and Djokovic.

Not yet the AO form for me, but the closest ever since.

The most reassuring thing is his movement seems to come back. He moves very well in the Lopez match. Very happy to see that.

****
FED`s back to 90%... which should be good enough to win a 4th straight USO!!

My only worry is if he plays Djokovic in the final, because Djoko is very cunning & seems destined to win a Slam sometime soon><..

Re: So how is Rogers form?

So I guess the worst threat for Roger here is the Bud Collins curse, with Djokovic a distant second?
