Re: Favourite players beside Roger and how you feel when they meet each other

There are many players I like to watch, but Fed is the only player I follow closely and I don't want to be on this road ever again in the future. I hate when Fed loses matches that he was *supposed* to win. When he's getting outplayed (it doesn't happen too often), I accept it very quickly.

Mind you, I find I'm handling today's loss like a real champ, lol. It doesn't hurt much, but when he's playing make no mistake, I want him to win. I don't care what the circumstances. He's my outright favorite in every situation.

Same here. I don't want to have a fave again if I can help it, it is not good for my blood pressure and also I can watch matches with more enjoyment if I am not emotionally invested in the match

Federer Express proud passenger seat #23

Good luck to Federer and Gasquet. Long live beautiful tennis!

Like many of you guys, Roger is my outright favorite. I want him to win, no matter who he is up against.

Other players who I like are Lleyton, who I like for his fighting spirit, despite not having a big weapon, Marcos, he has a lot of flare when he is on, even though he is very patchy, and Tomas Berdych, the way he can generate so much pace with such a fluid motion off both sides is simply amazing to watch.

Re: Favourite players beside Roger and how you feel when they meet each other

Hmm...I always want Federer to win. Because in the end I always see most matches as Federer v History...and to me, watching Roger create history at each step of the way...is incredible. That we should be so lucky to witness it in our lifetime.

So even if he plays a player I also support/like, I still want him to win. The only difference is, should he lose...it's not as bad.

In his matches against Rafa it's a bit different...I still actually support Roger over Rafa to win...but I often come out of the match more impressed with Rafa...simply because he is what usually makes their match what it is.
He never gives up...gives it his all...and really brings his A game always, which is unfortunately not what Roger always does when he plays Rafa.
So although I always still want Roger to beat Rafa in their matches, it is Rafa who usually has a little more of my respect at the end of it.

I mean I can't imagine how awful this year's Wimbledon final would have been had it not been Rafa on the other side. We got to see 5th set Federer only because Rafa made him go there, and made it the victory worthy of equalling Borg's record.

Rafa and Roger bring out the best in eachother...and so their matches will always have a separate and special part in my mind when I watch them.

Yes, that's me, too.

Though I also enjoy watching other players. I like to watch Murray and Gasquet in particular. I also liked Safin. But after that AO match, I hated him to death, and after a while, I was fine with him again LOL Yes, I simply want Roger to win every single match. He is my only fav.

I'm pretty the opposite. I hate when he loses matches he was supposed to win but can accept it quickly. What I feel really hurt is when he got outplayed (yes not often though) and that's what I can't accept.

Re: Favourite players beside Roger and how you feel when they meet each other

My favorite player is Lleyton Hewitt...he and Roger haven't played in a long time except for last week. To be honest, I was sad that Lley lost because he's a good player and he's really struggling to come back. Roger's always going to be a the top so it would have been nice to see Lleyton beat him for once.

Lleyton Hewitt Marcos Baghdatis Marat Safin James Blake Rafael Nadal

Andre Agassi - you will always be loved

Isn't it a human nature to have regrets about missed opportunities rather then about things that were out of control?
