Re: ***cincy tournament lets go roger ***

Even if Roger is a lot fresher going into this tournament, I have a feeling he won't win it. I watched that interview on the master series website (here it is btw: http://www.atpmastersseries.tv/page/...,11444,00.html) and I don't think he really wants to win it. I said in GM that if he goes down a set in any of his matches, I don't expect him to come back.I hope he proves me wrong though.

Also, it looks like I won't be able to watch any of his matches this week, unless some are in the day.

Why do you think that? Just from his interview after the Djokovic match?

No, there's a new interview from Cinci... but I don't think what he said in the interview meant that Roger is going to tank this tounrnament. Plus, he's got an easy draw till Djoko, he'll want to win THAT.

Though, I thought there was no way he's going to lose to Canas in Miami and I was dead wrong.

I won't say he doesn't want to win it, but I do get a feeling that if he loses here it wouldn't be a big deal for him. I do feel that he has had his eyes on USO already; everything is just a preparation for USO. Maybe that's a proper and smart approach for Roger at the current stage.

Re: ***cincy tournament lets go roger ***

Rogi has won the USO after winning TO04, CINCY05 and TO06 so far... altho in 05 he didn't play MTL so playing [and winning] Cincy was enough prep for USO that year. So far he has made the MTL Final. Let's hope he gains a lot of pts anyway in Cincy, if not win it, for his confidence, if anything.

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!

Re: ***cincy tournament lets go roger ***

That depends.

I mean - who is going to trouble him till Nole? No one. And if he gets to Nole, he would try his hardest to win, if he's in the final against Nadal - there's no way he would do anything less than his best effort to win, if he's in the final against Roddick - I suspect he couldn't lose even if he tried, so...

We'll judge him best tonight, if I could keep my eyes open for that... sheesh, they schedualed him better in Toronto.

MIrkaland, what match is that twirling racket from? I've never seen that before.

It's from USO 2005

I know only from his clothes because I have watched the final (def. Agassi) many times!

Yeah, that's what I mean. If he wins it good, if he doesn't, he's not going to dwell on it. He seems to already be focused on the USO, which isn't a bad thing IMO.

Anyone know why Nadal retired from his match today?
