Re: Week 44 : Eckental (Entry List)

ha-ha!
If any fresh newcomer reads this thread, he could think SKozak is crazyman or has ill ambitions or something else like that I suspect our moderator has thought or even is still thinking something similar about me. To be honest there was a period when I thought the same about him: "He is doing such crazy things here, in Challenger Series subforum(CSS), that are impossible to imagine in General Messages(GM) section. Why? Is he normal?" It should be said that I like challenger tour very much and for this reason I spend in CSS much more time than in GM. Usually I visit GM occasionally, mainly during GSs only, so I may know nothing about similar situations there. But I have read AJ's posts about tennis matches or players - and I agreed with him very often. So I decided he is NORMAL ! Yes, sometimes I don't like his actions as moderator and especially I don't like the recent trends in his attitude to our subforum. But who loves moderators? I consider myself as a sufficiently normal person too
I concluded there are some technical explanations to such strange situations like above. WHAT IS THIS SITUATION? I wrote about it a few times before, so I cited myself:

Now we see the short version of that list It's happened from time to time due to some problems in MTF site database: when author edits a post a few times the database sometimes keeps only the original or intermediate version, in this situation author could be deceived because the text editor embedded into his local computer or his browser cash may show the last version. Or often I see another scenario: when author edits a post a few times the database keeps the last version a few days and then after probably some crushing events or system failures in it returns to only first(original) post version. I guess many of old MTF users know about such problems (AJ simply names the MTF DB the f*cking one )
...
(it's from my post No.55 in Fergana thread about 10 days ago)
What had we yesterday? Firstly AJ started a few new threads "...(Entry List)" that contained only general info about events and DON'T CONTAIN ENTRY LISTS. All these threads were locked (at least I saw them in such mode), so I could not add real ELs there when they appeared through the Internet. Possibly/probably later AJ edited his posts and added ELs, but the problem is that many peoples in other regions than Australia(?) (including myself) DIDN'T SEE these updated versions of his posts soon after possible changes were made. I saw such situations many times before, so I know the delay may be of 1 hour or a few hours or even a few days. So many users (I met many complaints from people in european countries and USA about such situations, it's not only my problem or pure Ukrainian problem) continued seeing only locked threads with empty ELs. What were my thoughts? I guessed may be AJ is busy/ill or has no access to Internet etc., for some reason he didn't publish the ELs and then I decided to help our community to obtain info by starting a new (my own) thread...
How can we avoid such stupid situations? I don't know. I guess we need some consultations of experts on internet providing. The problem is sufficiently old, but isn't solving I think sometimes when I meet it that THIS PROBLEM IS MORE GLOBAL EVEN. Is anyone here who knows the MTF site admins? Or any who could explain how MTF server interact physically with users in different time zones and regions? Has server a few mirrors? Are these mirrors that collect info and maintain the MTF database in different regions badly synchronized? The latter could explain many things...
Or may be exist another explanation? I remember ~10 years ago the local Internet providers created the virtual copies of popular sites on their local servers to minimize global traffic. Is it so today? If so, how is the content of virtual sites synchronized with real one? Questions remain...

In 2013 Calendar (http://www.atpworldtour.com/~/media/...4015DEB15.ashx) you could read "Indoor Synthetic", on http://www.atpworldtour.com/Scores/A...endar.aspx?t=4 you see "Indoor Carpet". I guess synthetic=carpet for the ATP
