He is on a pretty good run at challenger level.

Furth - Qualified and reached R2
Blois - Qualified and reached R2
Milan - Lost in final Qualifying Round
Braunschweig - Qualified and lost in R1
Stuttgart (ATP 250) - Qualified and lost in R1
Guimaraes - Lost in R1
Segovia - Round 2 (still in)

That gets him 42 points and around 7000 Euros in Prize Money (more with the LTA bonus scheme).

Sure he could have probably matched that, even done a little better in futures but playing at this level is surely better for his development.

Don't get me wrong I am glad he is trying to step up but the odd future would be good in there . I am still pleased with the win. As per any win a Brit get's is immediately played down on here . Lol

Novak Djokovic .

5 Australian Opens
3 Wimbledons
2 US Opens

LTA Bonus Scheme

Furth - £1000
Blois - £1000
Braunschweig - £500
Stuttgart - £1250
Segovia - £500

So that's an extra £4250 or almost 5000€.

To get roughly the same number of points at futures you would have to win two and be runner up in another (at $10k), which would get you £1600, or win 2 futures (at $15k) which would get you £1900.

Remember that given the number of Challengers at this time of the year, a player like Alex Ward with his ranking gets to play worse players in Challenger qualifying than he might meet at a $15k quarter final, and if he wins a round in the main draw he gets almost as much money as he would for winning a $15k.

Yeah exactly. If you're gonna aspire to play Challengers may as well play them now (while there are plenty in Europe, and you think you can qualify, and it's economically worthwhile) and get used to playing better players in main draws.

Goodbye Ivan Navarro. A great player with a GREAT GAME said goodbye today. I really hope to read his name in a Draw in the future, if not; Goodluck for the rest of your life, legend!

Wow, Fabbiano has been playing really well recently. He has a nice game too, a little similar to Nishikori
