I feel bad for McClune. He always seemed injured and every time he comes back, he usually gets a tough draw. Jenkins is playing in the clay futures final today. Surface change can be tough, especially for a newly pro, so I can see him lose in the 1st round.

I don't like Ginepri but I don't mind him. He can at least be fun to watch. I find Sock's game extremely frustrating to watch and Young's attitude absolutely delusional. I don't normally cheer against players, but these two are among the exceptions.

Any players with games I should look out for? Whether it's huge groundstrokes, good net play...whatever. Definitely going for QFs Thursday, will go Tuesday if the OoP looks good.

There's quite a lot of filler here for the first rounds, but the QFs promise to bring a lot of interesting matches. It's quite difficult to see Bogomolov, Zverev, Smyczek, Young (even if it's Young), Sock, Devvarman and Johnson stumbling. The only seed I think could be upset is Klahn.

It's worth keeping an eye out for Christian Harrison (19) and Jarmere Jenkins (22), two young-ish guys who are rising quite a bit. Neither should be a threat to win the title, but they are ones to watch. If you enjoy net play, then try to make it for the Feeney vs. Harrison match. I hope Adam can win

I'd love to read a report on Myneni. I know virtually nothing about him, but he has one of the strongest records in Futures this year. Nevolo isn't exactly a tough draw so an all-Indian clash is quite likely.

Cheers! Yeah, I'm really hoping that the seeding holds through the QFs. Seems to be a rather top-heavy draw.

I saw Myneni play once in person years ago. It may not be the best example because he got routined by Clemson's #1 at the time. Myneni from what I remember likes to play close to the baseline and feel the ball around the court. He uses a god amount of slice and feel. Not a real athletic guy and isn't the quickest. He has a pretty big serve and has a very flat forehand. His style of play is similar to Tomic, although obviously not at the same level.

Re: Week 27: Winnetka (Entry List)

It will be interesting if Spir can qualify. He has a weird game. Slices his forehand about 80% of the time and always tries to get into net, big serve and great hands. When on he is dangerous as in college he beat Jenkins and Domijan, the only player to beat both guys in college. But he can have awful results as well, susceptible to players with good passing shots (in person I saw him get destroyed by Y Maden twice)

Thanks, I appreciate it. Doesn't sound very impressive He rose through the rankings by doing really well in weak Futures, so his ranking might be a bit inflated. It will be interesting to see how he copes at this level. Definitely should have a shot against Nevolo here.

Hardcourt is Nevolo's best surface and he usually plays well on home turf. He is a crafty player himself, so it should be an interesting match. I think court 5 is a streaming court.

I checked his results this year and they are just not impressive at all. Better on hard than clay, yes, but he still looks like one of the easiest opponents to draw.

I agreed that he is probably one of the easier opponents. But playing at home can motivate a lot of players. The last time I saw him play in Illinois, he beat Christian Harrison. If Myneni is a big hitter, Nevolo will probably struggle.

Edit: And if it goes 3, Nevolo will probably lose.
