Re: Week 18: Johannesburg (Entry List)

This is the most pathetic challenger of the year and it gives away 110 pts to thw winner. Just no words...

What are you talkin about?
Decent field. Lacko, Przysiezny, Brown, De Voest, Pospisil, Ram in the QFs. All Top 150 players.
Of course you have some unknown guys there like Montgomery who get a gift in the first round to get his first ranking points, but also few interesting players like Pavic, O'Brien, Vorster, Andersen or Roelofse. Most of them did well at the ITF Tour so why not playing a Challenger?
I wouldn't say this is more pathetic than the Asian Clay Challenger in Anning this week.
I am really pissed that there isn't a live coverage for this. Would love to see some real tennis instead of this clay shit.

RIP HENRY.

Re: Week 18: Johannesburg (Entry List)

Demoliner must have been dreadful to be demolished like that by Przysiezny Michal can play well but he is not usually one to win that easily.

The field is absolutely pathetic but the semifinals could be good if Lacko, Brown, Pospisil and Ram will all win their matches tomorrow

Re: Week 18: Johannesburg (Entry List)

Does anyone know why so many Brazilians chose to play this event? Just curious. They had 7 players in the singles main draw.

Demoliner was forced to save a match point in his R1 match (vs Tucker Vorster). Won 4-6 7-6(2) 7-6(4).

Re: Week 18: Johannesburg (Entry List)

Probably players that prefer faster courts should do well here, 1800 m altitude, judging by results it seems to be true so far.
