Well, I think exactly the contrary. He reached Australian Open QF as a junior player and if he was given a WC for the Qually draw of the Australian Open looks like the organization may had find him a promising player...

Re: Week 1 : Noumea (Entry List)

imo french federation has some hopes with pouille, he's young and improved a lot last year, so no wonder he got a wc to new caledonia (which is french) or aussie open q, slam countries are supporting each other with the wc needs (some aussie may get wc to rg q in return this year or another)

Re: Week 1 : Noumea (Entry List)

to be fair N´Godrela has won games over top 200 players in the past and has homecourt advantage

True ! Amazing. I'd been searching some information about him and he is about to turn 40 years old in a couple of months. He doesn't record any match played on the tour on the 90ties (when it was supposed to be that he might had found his glory days as a player .
On the opposite he played his first match in a Challenger event in Sofia (losing 6-0/6-0) with Konstantinos Economidis, remember? ) in 2003 at 30 years old!.
Since then he played one or two tournaments per year in the best of the cases. Until 2011 where he played 8 quallies of challenger tournaments losing those 8 matches!. Until 2012 where he records his first and solo victory on the qually of Lermontov Challenger. His best ranking is in doubles (726 in 2012). (I found all this information on the ATP and ITF web pages).
On these days he plays more on the Senior tour and mentioning that he plays due to his love to this game.

Last year he was about to play the quallies of MS Shanghai but he was denied an entry visa

Here I found an interview made to this player and why he is doing it on the tour:
http://www.livetennis.it/post/120212...sta-giramondo/

I find it great that someone at 39 years old is doing it for the love to the sport. I guess that it might have been the dream of many amateur players to try to do it on the pro tour.
I'm just wondering how he get the financial resources to do it.

www.tenniskeys.com - inside information about Pouille

Seems that is one of the bright futures of France tennis, not only because won back to back Futures titles at 18 but in December was recruited by Roland Garros team and trained alongside Gasquet, Mathieu, Llodra and Benneteau.

Also, due to Prince contract - his racquet - he trained with Ferrer in Valencia also in December and was given a WC invitation to AO qualifications.

Re: Week 1 : Noumea (Entry List)

this way or another i think it's not a wasted card for pouille, he proved on futures circuit he's worth investing

becuzzi is some hitting partner of lorenzi i believe

or maybe just carries HGH around the world or reports to bookmakers and can buy tickets
