Re: Week 46 : Helsinki (Entry List)

Beck is a fucking cheater and he should be banned from tennis right now. If anyone had seen his match against Zhyrmont... I have no words on that... That was just brutal, Zhyrmont was injured and struggling, but Karol was intentionally hitting everything into the net, didnīt even move there. That was the worst tennis match I have seen in my life and itīs almost clear that it was fixed before the match. Beck was also up 4-0 in that 2nd set and then he just stopped to play, that was unbelievable stuff. What an embarassment, I mean this was just brutal to watch. He could make this fix at least in less obvious way, because this was just too obvious... Hopefully that match will be under radar soon. Extremely brutal and sad to see things like that. BAN HIM!!!

In meanwhile, Lacko def. Vinciguerra 36 76 64, after Vinci was set and break up, 63 32 and serve.

Even more obvious how you can imagine... I am completely done with Karol after this one.

As for Lacko, I am happy for him. He wasnīt in a best position in this match after tough week at Bratislava. Vinciguerra played qualies here, knew the conditions and surface better and was really solid. He showed really strong serve, good movement and good defense with occasional attacks (but mostly he was pushing as hell). Not the easiest draw for Lukas, who clearly didnīt play his best. Lukas started very slowly and it looked like he has no chance. Credit to him for not giving up and upping his level in the second half of the match. He was a break down and also saved some other crucial BPs in the late 2nd set, one with a very risky FH at 5-5 40-A... Vinciguerra was the better player overall, but win is all that matters for Lukas. Ignatikīs gonna be tough, but maybe not tougher than Vinciguerra...

Re: Week 46 : Helsinki (Entry List)

I watched parts of that Beck match on the courtside, after seeing hundreds of matches I have never seen a more obvious tank than that. I think Zhyrmont knew Beck wanted to lose and gifted games to make it more obvious. 4-0 to 4-6 was a joke.
But why did Beck lose deliberately?

I see no suggestions above.
If you mean fixing the match for money it would make no sense as betting companies allow only stakes like 200€ on challenger matches.

You made a good point, that bolded part with Zhyrmont makes perfect sense, really. He was absolutely brutal at the beginning of that 2nd set, making error after error after error. Zhyrmont was also playing without any emotions during whole match. Sad stuff. He could have gifted those points to Karol also because of those live bets, odds are great when someone who knows whatīs going on can bet on player loosing 0-4... Sooo fucking obvious, this is really killing tennis and sports at all.

Re: Week 46 : Helsinki (Entry List)

especially if you have a bunch of new accounts and you make bets in play you can win a lot

i didnt watch that match of beck-zhyrmont, i mean, sometimes players completely lose their cool against injured opponents, but might have been fixed as well if you say it was that blatant

Comedy is a drama that happens to other people

Re: Week 46 : Helsinki (Entry List)

Hmm... of course, Beck's result is a surprising one. Shame that I didn't see the match, but I followed livescore and bet365 livebet odds a little. Well, I am quite sure it wasn't a fix, odds pattern seemed to be absolutely normal, Zhyrmont was heavy underdog the whole day and even before Beck's serve at 2:6, 4:5, the livebet odds were 2.50-1.50 before tehe medical timeout and 3.00-1.36 after it with Zhyrmont as favorite. If it was fixed, then the match would have not been offered at that moment anymore, or odds on Zhyrmont would have been around 1.01. I think that Beck simply tanked without any money being involved.

That is not as simple as it sounds. I mean, bookies do have security departments, it would be very easy to track it down

Re: Week 46 : Helsinki (Entry List)

you also have to take into account that some players, especially those like Beck who are 30 yr old or something, that they are just not fighting. You cannot seriously fight for 100% of the matches you play within a season, especially since it was his last tournament of the year. Did you accuse Djokovic of fixing the match when he just did not bother fighting too hard against Querrey after having been 60 20 up?
