I know.. I was surprised when Migani said that so I just nodded. Yesterday he did play a hardcourt match though, but Migani could feel the ball more and Kavcic just shortened the points as well.. He didnt seem like he wanted to play 3hs.

If you are into small stories, I interviewed the uruguayans and Marcel Felder is looking forward to qualifying for the Australian Open in doubles. Tomi Lipovsek and Juan Ignacio Londero (both born 1993) played main draw in singles and doubles and both were extremely happy. They decided to carry on playing challengers until the last 3 Futures tournaments of the year in Argentina.

Lipovsek earned the WC playing a pre-qualy tournament and his groundstrokes are really neat. I also had the chance to talk with José Hernandez from Dominicana.. he reads this little notebook during changeovers whenever his game is not on to raise his spirit. He writes possitive thinking now and then and greets himself with them.

Hahaha Fiber, are you going for the rest of the tournament?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

So many South American players of Slovene origins breaking ground in tennis. For years it seemed only the sucky ones stayed in SLO.

Re: Week 43 : Buenos Aires (Entry List)

Looks like a massive choke from Schwartzman

was up 6/3 *5/2, then 6/3 5/5 40-0* and now it's 6/3 *5/6

I don't know how he's winning so many matchs, probably counting on opponent mistakes, because he doesn't have any weapon

Dunno why you're saying he has no weapons, he has nice power on his groundstrokes and he can finish the ball.

Re: Week 43 : Buenos Aires (Entry List)

Guys it's not choke.. or maybe it is but it is understandable.

If these matches were on a Futures tournament, Schwartzman would have won in straights both in R1 and QF.. it's that he is not mentally prepared to win as easy as he's been doing in Challengers. It is more of a stage thing... cos the same match in Futures would be a done-deal. Schwartzman is mentally pretty strong, just needs a lil bit of experience and confidence on Ch level

Yup, the last name could hardly be more Slovene than that, ha. Also Hans Podlipnik-Castillo and Ricardo Hocevar.

Re: Week 43 : Buenos Aires (Entry List)

Schwartzman def. Velotti 6-3 6-1

Rufin def. Trungelliti 7-5 6-0

Trungelliti had 2 set points in the first set at *5-4, but lost 9 consecutive games instead.

Re: Week 43 : Buenos Aires (Entry List)

Rufin on a mission. If he wins tomorrow, he'll collect 250 points since October 1, after that still has scheduled Montevideo and possibly Challenger Tour Finals. Up to 92 in rankings, if he wins ~80.

Doubt that Schwartzman can bother him if he starts to hit big. Schwartzman is 10 cm shorter than Trungelliti, Rufin's big serves and groundstrokes could be too much.

@BeyondGreateful: Yes, there is.

I fully agree that Rufin should be too much for Schwartzman, but still could be a competitive match. His height is a bit deceiving for how he plays, Velotti is also pretty short but Schwartzman hits with way more pace and can actually be aggressive solidly. Of course he'll never be recognized for overpowering his opponents but not surprised to see he cruised past Velotti today and looking forward to a good final.

Re: Week 43 : Buenos Aires (Entry List)

We ve been talking about matchups.. Schwartzman's ideal matchup is Rufin. Let's see if Diego is up to the challenge and not impressed by his first Challenger final
