Oh my god, Sousa can beat De Bakker everywhere this year. He's so underrated here.

And, by the way, what bad shape of Sousa are you talking about? That one when he cleans Lukas Lacko in Slovakia in 3 easy sets in HARD court?

De Bakker beat Sousa already this year. He's playing with confidence now, so no reason for that to change!

3 straigh loses in Challenger tour, it's considered bad shape, specially if you look into the good season he had. But I think it was the mental thing of getting into top 100. Now he is playing more confident again. And also, it may just be a small thing, without too much importance, but he posted 4 times in his Facebook page this week. Before this week, he was posting each time in every 2 months. i guess now he understood how important it is for him to keep in touch with his fans, specially now that he needs all the support he has, to keep his top100 spot, and fight to be a regular presence in ATP Tour...

He has good chances indeed. I bet he is feeling very confident on himself, like never before in his career. He also can use the crowd in his favour. In my book, he's slighly favourite for this match.

No, it isn't. It's just because João Sousa is a top-100 player, top-90 on ATP Race. Beside that, and retiring the last 2/3 tournaments, he's having an amazing week and De Bakker still far away from his best and he's really tired this week. He had to fight a lot against Tiago Alves and after the past week i'm not seeing him with energies enough to another big battle. Sousa is full of confidence and played amazingly on Davis Cup against Lukas Lacko and Martin Klizan and he's back on track this week. Be careful.

Gil can't win 2 straight matches to save his life. Gastão is becoming a country mate killer! Hoping for Sousa and Gastão to win their matches and guarantee a portuguese in the final

First of all João Sousa had an easy draw so far (played an WC and a creepy Clezar), so saying that he is having an amazing week is an overstatement. Second you should see the last couple of weeks for De Bakker( 3 finals in the last 3 tournments, winning 2 of them). He might be tired but, in spite of being portuguese and really want Sousa to win i should say it will not be easy at all for Sousa to pass trough this one.

Downgrades Marko Djokovic's performance somewhat.

Perplexing.
