Re: Week 31: Vancouver (Entry List)

So depressing to watch Baker, seems like he has no confidence in himself. Diez just griding him out.

Also Yani wasn't happy at all with his performance yesterday. Suppose now Kudla is the favorite for USTA WC for US Open.

Re: Week 31: Vancouver (Entry List)

Diez def. Baker 6/4 6/4

^ Once he hit a backhand and stopped moving his feet thinking there was no way it would land in the court.

Kudla needs to get back on track here.

It will be disgusting if Yani beats him to the WC.

Losing to Diez on hard courts is pretty bad.

not sure where you got this information about Mike. I personally talked to him yesterday and he said he wasn't all that upset. Felt he made too many mistakes, but wasn't all that upset with the defeat. Said that Klahn's squash like fh wide was sick and couldn't believe some of the shots he hit off of it. To say Yani "wasn't happy at all with his performance" is incorrect.

He's not that bad on HC's contrary to popular belief.

I don't think there's any popular belief on Diez.

Just didn't seemed pleased at all at the end of the match from what I saw. Also tweeted he loves Vancouver but hates playing tennis there. Thanks for info

Diez ain't bad, but doesn't have major weapons, can grind for hours though, very effective if opponent is mentally weak and can't hit through the court.

Yeah okay

You are the only poster that will say that.

In his last hardcourt match, he lost to a player that was unranked in a Spanish futures event.

His results in hardcourt challengers are since becoming Canadian in 2010:

Loss: Grega Zemjla - 16 67
Win: Kamil Pajkowski - 76 62
Loss: Vasek Pospisil - 57 16
Loss: Alex Kuznetsov - 57 76 46
Loss: Ivo Klec 26 36

All losses except to Bester's friend who we can loosely say is a doubles player, but really seems to be his traveling partner.

Re: Week 31: Vancouver (Entry List)

Diez def. Duckworth 6/2 4/6 6/1

From what I saw Ducky was awful, a ton of UE going into the bottom of net, also took a medical timeout in the 3rd set for his neck. Diez was just average. Bad match.

duckworth has been pretty disappointing this year.

he's posted some solid results but I expected a bit more after his performances in Australia
