Well then why would that old glitterhack say he sucked on clay?? It doesn't make sense...So he plays mostly on clay, but it "should" be his worst surface? Hmmm, well big serve + really tall + some ball-bashing = Rosol like, right? And clay is Rosol's best surface...Interesting
So, does Jerzy play many hard court events? Does he play many indoor events? What will he play the rest of the season? Clay tournaments? He should try to transition to hard and indoor, so that he can become more of an all-around player...He won't last long in the Top 100 if he can't play decently on more surfaces than clay
i think he's not playing on hard because european challengers are mostly on clay, and travelling overseas goes along with costs (recanati is on hard, but it's in the week of poznan in his country)... he was in USO junior final after all...
he played wolfsburg indoors final this year on a very quick surface
this year is generally his breakthrough because he finally passed slam quallies... i suppose he mainly needed a mental step up, which can raise his results on any surface... as you can see him at this event, he started feeling a bit like a boss
not a kid who just has a chance to win against someone (and then choke)
he lost to middelkoop at USO quallies last year btw
