Re: Week 23, Caltanissetta, Italy (Entry List)

Fred will have to play way, way better to win the title here without doubt.

I'm guessing the Marti-Junqueira match was also horrible. Good win for Chucky.

Re: Week 23, Caltanissetta, Italy (Entry List)

Navarro started the match very strong and he was up 5-1 with four set points which he couldn't convert.
González then broke his serve and was 5-4 *0-40 with Navarro's serve but failed to break up to 5-5.
Despite Navarro winning the set, that comeback from González from 5-1 to 5-4 really helped González who immediately broke Navarro.
From the on, Navarro was thinking in the final set. He was completely off the match during the second set, hitting double faults on break points.
Before he even noticed, González was already up 4-1 in the final set.
Navarro was terribly weak mentally today. Very disappointing loss for him.
Let's see how the doubles with Gimeno-Traver goes.
Vamos, Iván!

Nicolas Kiefer

Benjamin Becker

Michael Russell

Iván Navarro

Great win Daniel.

Lorenzi is a pathetic player.

Si, Gastăo!

Elias 7-6(6) over Lorenzi

Lorenzi was 6-4 up in the breaker. Missed a backhand, missed a volley, hit a DF and missed a BH to lose the set.

If you look at Daniel's strokes I think they may be best suited for slow clay. He has some extreme grips and long swings. Seems to be going well here, too. Really hope he plays a lot of red clay tournaments in the near future.

Re: Week 23, Caltanissetta, Italy (Entry List)

Very true, Smoke. He tends to stand pretty deep from the baseline on HC anyway, so translating that to clay would seamless, and of course be more effective for clay than HC.

Lorenzi looks gone mentally. Hopefully Elias can close this out.

Elias def. Lorenzi 7-6(6) 6-3

Very good match from Elias and a big win for him.

Of course, Lorenzi being out of the event makes this result all the more sweet.

That fabulous performance from Falla will help him tremendously with regards to making sure he can play the Olympics

Schoorel def. Falla 6-3 6-3

Not a great match. Alejandro isn't at 100%. But a good name win for Schoorel, who needs the confidence boost.

Re: Week 23, Caltanissetta, Italy (Entry List)

Elias-Junqueira predictably an ugly breakfest.

Chucky has no serve and Elias makes tons of errors. Chucky is playing more offensively than he did in the past and uses all the court and changes direction of the ball well, but lacks a finishing shot.
