You have to take into consideration that the Challenger is in the Czech Republic. Hajek has traditionally done very, very well in home events. I considered Hajek the favorite because of that, and because Grigor and clay aren't a great match.

Re: Week 19 : Prague (Entry List)

It is very odd what you are saying about Grigor's ability on clay! I mean - he is grown on clay after all!!! Dimitrov played almost exlusevly on clay (90% of tennis corts in Bulgaria are clay!) up until age of 16! Besides he trained 2 years with Pato Alvarez in Spain, on clay too. Sure he does like hard courts more but saying he cannot play on clay is wrong! He has a chalanger title on clay (defeating Pablo Andujar in the final), and ATP QF in Munich last year (defeating Marcos Baghdatis) and won a few futures on clay too + a doubles chalanger title on clay. The same year when he won the juniors titles at USO and Wimbledon, he reached the QF at Roland Garros too.

His shape recently however is questionable...

Roger Federer

Grigor Dimitrov

Soderling Cilic Murray Gasquet Tsonga Wawrinka Kohlshreiber Fognini Berdych Haas Melzer F.Lopes Nieminen Pospisil Davydenko Baghdatis Mahut Bellucci Berankis Harrison Troicki

Sampras & Safin

No one is saying he can't hit the ball on clay. The point is that he is less clearly a Top 100 player/threat on the surface. A measly QF and one Challenger win really don't mean that much. Heck, Muńoz-De La Nava did just that.

Re: Week 19 : Prague (Entry List)

Bedene was down 6-3 5-3* but managed to win the 2nd set 7-5.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Dimitrov wasted 2 or 3 MPs at 6-3 *5-4

Re: Week 19 : Prague (Entry List)

lol i thought it was done and i went for a dinner, and then i hear people clapping and i lurk again and the match continues, bedene hits two juicy winners, suddenly has power in his shots and dimitrov is helpless

in the third set he throws everything out, totally damaged mentally after the match he almost won

apparently grega zemlja also was sure it was done because he also went down to grab some food and he looked very angry

not such a good match though. i'm not going anywhere out tonight (party is here this time ) so i'll have videos tonight for sure

I will burn
