i didnt expect him to hand andrey the victory but to just play on and if he lost accept it
No way he was going to do that. He wants to win as well, and is experienced enough to know what it takes to win matches like this. They're both playing to win and Pippo basically employed a tactic to help him achieve that. Is it dirty? Yes. But he took advantage of something he's allowed to do in the rules. It's Kuznetsov's issue for allowing it to affect his play, and then allowing the ball pop argument ruffle his skin. He showed no composure and focus when it mattered.
I think andrey is playing again next week. I see he's melting down right now but i just hope he regroups from this and takes the positives from this week into next week. he had a top 100 clay specialist on the ropes before he let a time out get to him
top 100 this year is definately attainable if he keeps this up
We'll see how he regroups physically for next week. Matches like this can scar players for a long time. But you do hope he takes confidence in his game and realizes that he's got the ability to play with high-level players. This is a very real, very rough learning experience for the young Russian and hopefully he does learn a lot from it.
