Re: Week 9: Singapore (Entry List)

Good SF lineup. Lu vs Wang and Soeda vs Udomchoke

I hope tennis Jesus saves the event and allows Danai to delete the trash in the SF. It's bad enough Soeda is top 80, but winning this event would be utter disaster. After failing to win the two layup challengers in Australia, Rendy needs to win the title here and make up for that.

Lu 63 61 Wang
Soeda 62 67 62 Udomchoke

Expected final. I see Filo is still hatin' hard on Soeda (btw, welcome back Filo), sad to see I honestly think he's improved his level quite a lot this year. Would be great for tennis to have another Japanese player in the top 75

Re: Week 9: Singapore (Entry List)

I will never EVER like Soeda. My dislike for him has simply been too strong for too long. But I will be honest, his game has definitely improved. He's hitting a sharper ball.

Still, if Frederico Gil had closed him out in Chennai when he was up a break and had a chance for a double break in their R1 match there, none of this would be going on...............Soeda wouldn't be winning like this. Also he STILL has only been winning in Asia. Until he wins outside of Asia and shows he can beat top 100 players on any consistent basis, it's hard to have a lot of respect for him.

Thanks for the welcome Willoughby, you're one of the posters I respect the most around here

I would like to see Ito in the top 75, I like him. I think he's got the game to maintain a top 100 ranking from ATP events instead of just through challengers and Asian events.

Re: Week 9: Singapore (Entry List)

Well, I can't say that everything has been saved since Soeda made the final, but at least Rendy took the title. Broke Soeda 5 times in 9 service games. This should give him confidence for IW and Miami, hopefully he can win some matches in the States.
