Re: Week 43: São José do Rio Preto (Entry List)

I didnt went to the tournament this monday, but I can say I am disappointed with Elias and Machi Gonzalez and surprised with Pereira.

Cervenak also cant play tennis. Zampieri should clown less. Alund is playing ok.

Re: Week 43: São José do Rio Preto (Entry List)

Prodon is second in the race, he is in South America at the moment but he doesn't want to play in Sao Paolo? I can't understand that...

Is he a long term hitting partner for Tsonga and Monfils?

Prodon has a foot problem since some years now, so he plays almost exclusively on clay and not on HC (or very few matchs) to preserve his physical shape. Maybe that's why he doesn't want to play indoors...

Re: Week 43: São José do Rio Preto (Entry List)

Been an absolutely dismal past about 6 months for Machi. Really surprised, he doesn't generally go through patches like this where he can't win matches. Hopefully he finds a way to finish top 100. With that said, Gianluca can beat Machi even if Machi is in good form.

Happy Chucky is out. Patiently waiting for his exit from the top 100 ranking. Now Ruben has to make up for the disaster last week in Quito and do well here.

Re: Week 43: São José do Rio Preto (Entry List)

Ramirez Hidalgo def Prodon 63 64

The real tennis player was Ramirez Hidalgo. Prodon was a bit lazy and couldnt get to work his backhand, he used to try some bad dropshots with it. Ramirez looked in form for this match, was hitting the ball very smoothly.

Mello def Rufin 64 64

Mello is a slightly more experienced player than Rufin right now. Rufin looks like a nice kid, but he didnt show a strategy plan to beat Mello, while Mello was offensive and tenacious. Good learning experience for Rufin, at least.

Navarro def Pospisil 62 26 64

The most entertaining and close match of all those three. Navarro was beating well Pospisil in the first set, but suddendly he started to not be able to put his first serve into the court. Pospisil started then to play with more consistency and return well and after some tough games he broke Navarro.

It started the third set very hot so you could see the players suffering a bit. Pospisil started to feel a little bit pressured because Navarro slices were hurting him a bit, and also he wasnt as consistent as before. Navarro served very well to open 4-3 and 5-4. In the last game Pospisil and Navarro were arguing because Navarro had a match point and Jaroslav wanted to exchange all the balls. Navarro then returned a short ball, but Pospisil did a wrong smash to lose the match. I was sad the way Pospisil lost the match, he looked like a lost stranger struggling to bring the match to a tie break. Navarro looked cool with his head.

Jaroslav is trying to play with all his forces, but he doesnt have a game. He looks too serious on the court struggling to play his best game, but he is simply a common player. I thought his game against Navarro was in an okay level, but the fact Pospisil doesnt have a good serve doesnt help him. I think that if he had a better serve, he could have already entered top 100 because he looks professional and he tries very hard to win the points in the rallies.
He needs to have some kind draws to help him have the confidence for another runs. Isnt in a good moment now.
