Re: Juan del Potro!!!

Yes, I think he is resting till that week and then do that swing on hard, although last two of them there are futures on the same week in Argentina...

I hope they make again the Petrobras swing in SA like last season ... that could put him into Top 200 for next season...

Re: Juan del Potro!!!

This thread shouldn't exist!!!

I have been told several times that if Andy Murray was Spanish or Argentine no one would notice him because Spain and Argentina have sooo many amazing young players. Del Potro is Murray but a year younger and as such is a great prospect.

I look forward to seeing them meet on the atp tour so Murray can complete a hat-trick of wins.

I think most people who follow Tennis at the lower level can recognize a young up-an-comer regardless of his country of origin, so JM was bond to get some attention based on his results.
What people may have been trying to tell you is that the media and the average Tennis fan from those countries would not notice a young talent like Del Potro because they have plenty of other top players to cover, while in Great Britain or The USA theres only one top player to follow, and people/the media feel the need to look for the next great thing, so Murray in GB or Young in the USA get more attention than Del Potro gets in Argentina, while having comparable results at a similar age.

Re: Juan del Potro!!!

Weel, this kid finds new way to amaze week after week ... this is hsi first ever challenger on hard and he's already in semis...

Now I have no doubt he will finish in TOP 200 and by the end of next year he probably will be entering the Top 100, a year ahead of schedule...

Re: Juan del Potro!!!

if he has a favorable draw he may make it to the MD, is not like he hasnt beat top-100 players before, besides apparently he wont be playing during weeks 33 & 34 so he wont be tired. Its going to be 3 very tough rounds, but JM can do it.
