Re: going to futures and sats

I've been to a women's ITF. Lot of fun, you talk and joke with players and their staff... the level isn't the most important, but the atmoshere, I guess. I was treated like someone really important and Angelique Kerber called me a "Mrs" what's kinda funny as I'm only 3 years older. It's a good way of seeing someone who might be great in next years. For example, I regret not going to the tournaments in my country to see Joachim Johansson who's a great star now.

Re: going to futures and sats

It's free to get in of course. Even some challengers are free. I'd only go to watch Satellites/Futures if they were nearby-I went to Sutton a couple of times. Challengers are better to see upcoming stars (I saw Karlovic at Surbiton a few weeks before he defeated Hewitt R1 at Wimbledon, and saw Joachim Johansson before his big break).

Jim Thomas - Max Mirnyi - Jordan Kerr - Rohan Bopanna - Andy Roddick - Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi - Ilia Bozoljac - Chris Haggard - Jan-Michael Gambill - Donald Young - Nathan Healey - Lleyton Hewitt - Jamie Murray - Olivier Rochus - James Blake - Vince Spadea - Tim Henman - John Isner - Travis Parrott - Paul Goldstein - Tim Henman - Wes Moodie - Arnaud Clement - Michael Russell - Jeff Coetzee

Re: going to futures and sats

I've been to a few futures... they're great. The players are all walking around, and not many (I say not many because even though some players never win they still think they're something special) have attitudes. I have chatted with Matej Bocko and Brian Baker. Both nice guys. I even saw Brian in an airport once!

Anyway, they're great because there usually aren't many people around. As Nath said, it's just a nice atmosphere and you can actually interact with the players.

Le Poussin! Faithfully ignoring the haters since 1995.

Le Poulailler de Poussin! (Simontarded.)

Re: going to futures and sats

I would like to go, but only one is about 70 Km away, and even that is too much imo for a future. Maybe I will go at the weekend, if a Finn is in the semis. I think for every "real" tennis fan, Futures/Satellites are enjoyable.
