Costa Mesa, CA Future

1 Denis Kudla
2 Daniel Cox
3 Roko Karanusic
4 Chris Eaton
5 Artem Sitak
6 Steve Johnson
7 Bassam Beidas
8 Takanyi Garanga

Strong list compared to last week when Steve Johnson was the 1 seed and is now 6.

It will be interesting to see if Barbados player Darian King can compound on his final last week.

what players will you be watching? Obviously there are college guys I am interested in and interested to see how some of the non-America seeds do. The ones that don't often enter these events

Paradorn Srichaphan
Kei Nishikori, Donald Young, Somdev Devvarman, Dustin Brown, Steve Johnson, Yannick Maden
Robert Farah, Clement Reix, Alexander Dolgopolov, Nathan Thompson

Saw Sitak take a set off of Kamke this summer, I think he will do alright. Also interested in Fowler, Saville, Siwy and as always, JP Smith.

Re: Costa Mesa, CA Future

Sanam Singh gives the 2 seed Cox a really tough match, shame Singh could not pull it out. JP Smith with a 2 set win. Johnson has a little more trouble with Skupski than expected. Giron did well to take a set off of Sitak. Dissapointing for Darian King to get routined in the 1st round, but expected after playing a lot last week. Also nice to see former Hawaii Rainbow Warrior Lajola with a 1st round win.

The most surprising result to me was Sarkissian over Siwy.

Re: Costa Mesa, CA Future

I'll be watching JP Smith today. Hope he makes it all the way. Any place to get live scores? Radio Tennis is not on - and I'm not sure where else to look? Anyone there?

Johnson def Kudla 6-3 6-3. Impressive win for Steve.
Lajola makes a shock semifinal appearance.
Sitak def Smith 6-3 7-5.
