More tournaments will be added to this period soon - for example, in South America there were no tournaments when the calendar was released, now 2 Colombian futures were confirmed, more tournaments to come.

edit: Brazilian tennis federation is planning to have 40 futures and 10 Challengers in 2009. Please note the 40 futures are not all of the men's circuit, but most of them (this year were 35, 2 or 3 of them cancelled).

latest updates: 2 Indian futures
Colombia F2- venue moved from Ibague to Cartagena, surface chnge from clay to hard.

I read the unranked players will also appear on the entry lists next year.

This confusion is because at ITF website you can check the upcoming tournaments list by two ways - one is at the top bar, in Tournaments, go to "search all tournaments", the other is at a left side bar (except in main page), also "search all tournaments" option

That's right, ITF already included the non-ranked players into next week's entry lists, so they didn't wait the new year to make it

Re: 2008 Futures Overview

Not sure if you like this sort of topic posted here but...

Who would you guys vote as your 'Futures Player of the Year'? [Or has this been mentioned elsewhere?]

Personally, I'm drawn to Leonardo Kirche [BRA] - a player whose progress I have been following for a little while now and has really taken advantage of all of the home Futures in Brazil.

Janko Tipsarevic - Jamie Baker - Philipp Kohlschreiber - Wojciech Starakiewicz
Nikola Mektic - Leonardo Kirche

CCC, I don't know how you lost MTF Popularity contest. And I think somebody should , make a Futures Player of the Year Thread like the challengers.

I think there'll be a thread for this, but as there are still Futures being held now, it's too early for it

Well I don't make a big effort to be liked And I don't really post a great deal in Non-Tennis or GM; I stick to the less-frequented corners of this forum I guess. Am quite surprised I even reached 4R.

And yeah, there will be a thread. I think TankingTheSet made one last year. I might be mistaken, but I know that there was a poll for sure.

Re: 2008 Futures Overview

Well I've opened the thread for nominees so if people wish to withhold their nomination until all this year's events have finished then that's fine..

Some of us have already made up our minds though

Janko Tipsarevic - Jamie Baker - Philipp Kohlschreiber - Wojciech Starakiewicz
Nikola Mektic - Leonardo Kirche

I made it last year and the winner was Rusevski, Gard finished 2nd and Middelkoop 3rd. Only 28 posters voted though.

Sorry for the mix-up.

Interesting to see Rusevski was the winner, and then he completely disappeared this year. 2008 was a horrible year for the Macedonian.
