Re: Favorite Liz Album

Exile in Guyville is my favorite. I worship this album.

I do like a lot of songs from WCSE too though.

Exile in Guyville is pretty naughty...

Something tells me you would like it.

Re: Favorite Liz Album

Guyville is my compass.

I love 'em all for different reasons, though. She's a unique vision, and I don't even mind her trying to get a little pop-pier.

Thanks for the memories, Andre!! Long live Flake! Go Saf!

Re: Favorite Liz Album

I'm curious about her next album. (I hope she will do another, despite low critical opinion of her last one). Will she continue to do the pop star thing, or retreat into a more introspective style?

I think she's a brilliant songwriter who has never been entirely comfortable following up the massive success of her first album. While the "dirtiness" of Exile is awesome, I don't think it is essential to her style, as many people seem to feel. The idiosyncratic twists of her melodies, unusual song forms, and the intelligence, sensitivity and wit of her lyrics is what set her apart for me.
