Re: Test: The Kiss Ass Test

My score: 15

Even in the most tempting of situations (like getting a promotion), you hold back the urge to suck up. You'd rather get respect, admiration and the other good things in life on your own merit, not because you butter people up. Either that or it simply doesn't occur to you to kiss butt! While it's certainly admirable that you don't kiss butt on a regular basis, keep in mind that a little subtle effort to get on people's good side can go a long way. You don't have to feel ashamed if you do it occasionally; it's actually an accepted part of successful socializing and career advancement. Just do things that feel genuine and you shouldn't be compromising your integrity.

From time to time, you butter other people up. You may not even think of it as kissing butt, but more as being polite - when, for example, you laugh at other people's bad jokes. Or perhaps there are simply certain things you want so badly in life (a promotion or the acceptance of your spouse's family) that you will put in that extra effort to get on someone's good side. Truth be told, sucking up is not always a bad thing, but can be a valuable way to build the right connections. You seem to maintain the precarious balance between outright kissing butt and subtly getting on people's good side. It's a real art!

I don't agree!!!
I've never kissed an ass....
or maybe, did I?

Re: Test: The Kiss Ass Test

I pretended that all of the questions had to do with "WOMEN"
and here's what I got:

Your score = 95

What does your score mean?
Pucker up baby! You have definitely mastered the art of kissing butt, and are able to use it in a wide variety of situations. This may be a habit you formed young - were you the teacher's pet by any chance? If not, you may have discovered over the years that buttering people up can get you what you want - that job promotion, someone's acceptance, or the best service. Sucking up can be harmless (and maybe even polite…like laughing at people's bad jokes) and is sometimes a valuable people skill - when not overdone. Go too far, however, and you'll likely end up being revealed as a phony. How do you know when you've crossed that line? When it feels (and probably looks) forced. If you want to show your appreciation or simply don't want to be rude, suck up by all means. Just don't make it too obvious!

I bet Jay Leno would score very high on this test.

There's obviously a fine line between ass kissing and being polite, which isn't apparent on this quiz.
